Hi all, I'm looking to build a new PC that handles PioSolver, Excel, MOBAs and two monitors with ease. Not too fussed on budget (US$800-2k?) as long as lag is minimised and FPS is reasonable - a couple recommendations in that range would be appreciated (or alert me if I'm way off on spend). atm I'm running 27in 2560x1440 60Hz monitors, and my old PC boots off an SSD but has a HDD as well (I'm not wedded to this config by any means). Cheers.

So you're looking for what everybody else that's ever asked about a poker computer wants in the last five years. Search. The one remaining NLHE fish that you want to gut with your solvers will still be there once you've done so.

risk2Dupside,

You might get better feedback if you share specific details of what you're currently looking at.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
RAM: I would like a recommendation for 64GB (16GB x 4..can I just buy 2x Corsair Vengeance 32GB kits?)
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 6GB

I'm assuming this looks like a fairly robust build (if not overkill)..what I'm not sure about are the specs of mobo/cases/power supply/cooling that I'll need to support this. Cheers

Yes, that's a very "robust" build

For motherboard, you'll want a X570 motherboard, and a full sized case.

Depends on what you want to do. We have a PC store here in St Louis and they often provide some good deals. But, with that said, I would always check around for the best deal. I have 2 Samsung curved 4K 32" curved monitors that I found on sale for $190/each. Then I purchased a NVIDA GeForce GTX 1080 with 32G of RAM for the video module. I still have space to purchase another 32G if I want. I don't care for AMD processors, but that's just me. I have 8 core Intel i7 which is pretty reliable. I watch TV or any other steaming service on my PC while 4 tabling just fine. I also recommend a water cooled CPU system. Was really amazing when I got it, no noise really (you should still have some low RPM fans to push out dust), but it was really a game changer. Like I said, depends on what you want out of the system. I spend around 1800 total, have had it for almost 7 years, no failures and its rock solid.
