I am using a newish (8 month old) computer, these a re the specs:

After a few weeks of having the computer i had a problem with the display getting very blurry, this was accompanied by the fans going to full on max. After getting in touch with the company i bought from (there customer service is lousy) they sent me a new graphics card, which appeared to solve the problem.
The last few days however the blurry graphics have returned. I have tried updating and rolling back drivers to no avail. I can return the computer to the place i bought from (i have to pay for the parcel cost) but if they say there is no fault i will have to pay for the return and there costs.
Before i return it has anyone any suggestions or tests i can run?
there's a tool called DDU (display driver uninstaller)
it will completely wipe any vga drivers previously installed, run that, then install the latest stable driver in safe mode
check the cable, cheap ones can be fiddly
are you using an adapter? hdmi to dp or viceversa
check on both hdmi and dp
check with another monitor or tv
can be a cpu problem if one or more of the pins are bent
can be a ram problem (stick dead or slot on mobo dead)
go in order, worry about the worse case scenarios later
well that's the problem, vga can be fuzzy to begin with and the adapter you're using is also likely a problem, there are passive and active adapters, you need an active one because it needs to convert the digital signal from hdmi to an analog signal (vga). Fiy, vga is the only analog one left these days, all the other ones are digital (hdmi,dp,dvi), so just always avoid using vga. surely your old monitor has a display port too? not just vga.
I've had a setup before where I was connecting 2 pcs to 1 tv, 1 via hdmi and the other I had to adapt from dp to vga and whatever I tried, the picture was blurry and colors were distorted. Tried 3 different cables, different adapters and anything else I could think of, I just couldn't get a clear picture.
plug into your tv via hdmi and picture should be clear at all times
you can output 4k60Hz as well via both hdmi and dp
Got the new monitor, went for a 32 inch , but when i got it all wired up was for too big for me. Did not see any blurriness with it although didnt use it for too long. My daughter has now claimed it, so i am now waiting to receive the 24 inch version
It is possible this could drag on a bit longer, my son has been trying to talk me into getting a 27 inch one but i dont think this will match paulys opus.
I would have done, but it was giving me a headache looking at it. I do need a new monitor, had the existing one prob 6+ years, also gets me brownie points with the daughter, she can do her college work on the bigger one. Cheers anyway
I have 2 "ran when parked" 21" IBM CRTs in my Dad's shed. I should fire one up and see if they live next time I'm home. They would do like 1920x1600@60Hz, but I usually ran 1600x1200@85Hz.
Got them for $30 each, along side a slot based Pentium 3 workstation when they got retired from a DOT office. A friend and I bought 2 each because it was the cheapest way to get to 512MB of Rambus and as a bonus the boards were dual CPU capable.
Well it appears the new monitor will do the job when it gets here, i hooked up to a tv and ran it for a good while yesterday with no blurriness at all.
was thinking about wiring it up to an old etch a sketch i have, but wasnt sure about the correct voltage.
