I am lookin at purchasing this HP (link below), primarily for poker and web browsing etc. Was hoping to get some feedback from the community regarding successful/bad purchases. I do have HEM installed so MAC isn't a viable option.
What price range are you looking for? I'd recommend the HP Envy. I didn't like HP products but I'm very happy with my choice. It may be an overkill if you're looking to do just poker but the higher resolution really helps.
Staples. HP dv6 its only 449 on a special right now... you get 4g of ram, 3.0 ghz speed amd pemon or something processor, 16 inch screen.. 500 gb harddrive... hard to beat that and its reall good for poker i love it
OP, I would need to know more about your specific usage scenarios. For instance, do you multitable poker and how hard. For instance, my tolerance for overlap on my tiled displays is MASSIVE (as long as I can see my hole cards on all my tables at all times I am GOLDEN) and I can only fit 8 tables on my m11x which has the same resolution as both the laptop you linked and the one at Staples. If you need more space/resolution, you really have to dig deeper. Other considerations would be important, like if you would game at all (even moderate gamers need a little somethin' somethin' under the hood), et cetera. Be specific in outlining your usage scenarios.
I went into best buy and researched in the store (ha!) using the laptops on display to check reviews. Got a nice HP machine for $470, i3, 500 gb, 15.6 inch screen. Is sharp, but wish it was like 16.5 inc but all in all a v solid machine. Had a Sony vaio 16.5 in screen before.
And I multi hu sng, 1-4 at a time. Prefer no overlap or slight overlap if doing 2 at a time
