I bought a sh Ryzen 1600AF for 90€ shipped. So I won't need that 3500X anymore. I will still be following that seller and see what happens to his feedback, just for my curiosity

I ran across a really cheap B550M ITX motherboard + ITX case and GTX 1070 mini at the same time. It was a signal for me to build a ITX gaming PC and sell it for profit

I was going to ask if you're flipping your builds cause it sounds like you have a few by now

1600AF was a really nice chip, basically a 2600 for cheapz
I think it was sub 100$ msrp and flew off the shelves

Build 5, sold 3. Now going to build a mini itx gaming system. I don't see many of those for sale and I can offer it cheaper when I'm finished.

System will look like this:

Asrock B550M itx/AC mobo
Ryzen 3100
Gigabyte GTX 1070 mini
2*8 GB Corsair vengeance lpx 3200mhz
Some 250-500GB nvme ssd
Raijintek Metis plus case ITX
Some decent atx psu

where'd you get the 1070 mini?
was it cheaper than a regular model?

Got it on the sh market here in Spain. Price was 180€ +20€ shipping/insurance from the selling platform.

Pretty cheap, but not unheard of. Most GTX are being offered for 250ish

that's not bad for a a card that plays any game in FHD
so what are you making on a build? couple of hundred eur? I imagine the spaniards are not very versed in tech stuff

Trying for 25% margin or so.

The selling platform is RIDDLED with gaming PCs. Most are terrible or old or expensive or a combination of these. I hope an ITX build will catch attention.

what do people use in Spain? Olx?
from my time working in a pc shop, I've noticed nicer cases sell more expensive pcs
i.e. you the put same hardware in a better looking 50$ extra case and you get 100$ more on the system
also the general not so techy public like flashy looking stuff and bigger numbers in the specs sheet, so like an overkill psu will help the sell cause they see 700w and think better quality
same goes for storage, throw in a cheap 1tb hdd in there if you can together with the ssd

browsed the first few pages, looks like some good deals out there
how are the people? I had to deal with so many weirdos and *******s over here I just stopped buying anything non-retail that isn't sealed in box

I don't know what country you are from and if wallapop is in that country, but the platform escrows the money wile the article is in shipment. They only offer that service if you are in Spain, so good luck paying by paypal/transfer/whatever and getting whatever it is you are getting in the mail.

I have had several disappointments and several obvious scams I didn't fall for. One dead motherboard and one motherboard + Ryzen 2200g that were drowned in thermal paste (which I posted about already in its own thread).

And the place is riddled with idiots, just like any internet platform.

There are an amazing amount of Ryzen 3600 being dumped on the second hand market here in Spain. I don't understand people. It is a fantastic CPU. I've seen various ones go below 150€, though most are offered around 180€

I would buy one if I didn't have to sell my mini PC first. I finished building it yesterday and my son is already asking if I can sell his PC and he can have that one (I think not)

definitely not committing to one yet, but anyone have or have thoughts on ultra wide monitors vs regular? i currently have a 27" curved as my main screen and its fine. im not sure if getting a big, wide monitor for fairly close use would be stupid in the end or not, or if theres anything really special about it that would make it worthwhile. if im watching tv/videos i have a 55" 4k right next to this one.

49" samsung has always had my eye, but that'd be a ton of screen side by side..

one was listed on google, 86" LG with a res of 3840x600 lol what would you even do with that...

I have an ultrawide 34" monitor, and a normal, flat, 16:10 30" monitor.

I do not think there's much value in the curve of the 34" monitor. Given a choice between a curved 34" monitor and a flat 34" monitor, I would just get whichever was cheaper. I have my monitor rotated into portrait orientation.

hmm thats interesting; i very much like the slight curve of my current. i was more unsure of how big of a monitor would be comfortable to look at and if the extra wide makes it annoying to do normal stuff. i'll probably hold off as this set up works perfectly fine for what i do. maybe if i get a different desk setup some day where im not as close itll be more feasible

I've got a 34" curved ultrawide. I like the curve but don't know how much I'd pay specifically for that feature. My desk is 60" and the side monitors are 27" 16:9
3440x1440 is really nice for snapping 2 things side by side with no bezel in between (vsCode window and a browser or word doc, etc.).

oh yeah, i remember that pic, pretty nice setup. i actually turned snapping off cause it was so annoying trying to get windows from one monitor to the other. i have a 3-4' desk that has mouse/keyboard/27" so there would be space for more. then the 55 is on another table type thing.

again, surprised the curve isnt more popular. id really prefer the 55" to be curved but cant come close to justifying a new one just for that.

do you guys think OLED displays are a good idea for pc use?
burn-in issues and all
All the cool kids (NC thread 0.0.2a) Quote

Yes, eventually. We'll probably see some more laptops with OLEDs before monitors become more common. I went to an OLED TV this year and its great. I think there will be a window of time where OLED is price and lifecycle viable for mid-high end monitors on up. People are using the 48" LG OLEDs but price on those is still pretty high.

price is quite ok for a smaller oled tv, I see 43" LGs going for a bit over 500$
I just wonder if the technology is there now or can get better, idk the limitations of organic LEDs, had a couple of Samsung phones that started suffering from burn-in 3-4 years in but idk if the technology is the same on larger displays. the way I see it, pc monitors would be very much affected by this, since they show static images the vast majority of the time.
