4k laptop display, scaling issues with poker programs/ pt4

hey, i recently purchased a laptop and they gave me an option to upgrade the display to 4k. however when i opened pt4 on the new laptop. there was severe scaling issues on many programs not just pt4. i tried every single option of changing resolutions and scaling. i also tried to disable scaling on the compatability tab on pt4 properties. nothing has worked. regardless of any resolution+ scaling option i do i get the same result. 90% of the tabs are cutoff, and the numbers on the graphs are at the font size of 2 and are unreadable. did anyone have this problem. i heard people fixed it on 4k monitors. however i have a 4k laptop so that might be a difference.

Change resolution of the screen to 1080p or 1440p and make it 100% scaling.
Better yet, return the 4K and get laptop with lower native resolution.
