What are the odds that life evolved on this planet to the point that I can type this sentence on my laptop? OR The odds your god chose this planet to drop some human seeds on?

The odds my Grandfather survived WW2 so that one day I can be born?

The odds that my ankle getting stuck between two branches, kept me from falling head first out of a large maple tree when I was younger?

So on & so on... I think you get the idea.

I feel like I just won the Powerball jackpot, but those odds are only 1 in 195,249,054.

As Richard Dawkins once pointed out, each of us is descended from roughly ~3bn years worth of creatures that have out-competed and out-evolved all the others around them. We're descended from 3bn years of winners. Kind of a hard legacy to live up to, isn't it?
