I think Nielsio's post on evolution simulators lead to the two coolest YouTube videos out there on evolution:

I know alot of times people just gloss over links. I feel the need to go out of my way to tell people to watch this video. If you ever had any interest in evolution just watch it.

I freaking love bonnie. I got a chance to meet her a few times when she was wrapping up her work in mid 2005 and she's really funny, sarcastic, and doesn't take crap from anyone. She loves to tell the story of how for the most part the people around her were saying that studying why some random bacteria glows was stupid and a huge waste of resources. She basically gave a middle finger to the established scientists around her and proceeded with her vibro work. She just kept pressing on because she just believed in what she was doing and now may have solved one of the biggest impending crisises for medical science. The bit of anarchist in me just loves stuff like that.

I thought it might also be nice to add SMP movie recommendations in here as this is the "video" collection. Some staples:

The matrix (omg if you have not seen this)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (less omg)
The Prestige (I went in with 0 expectations and came away with one of my all time favourites)

I just want to register my appreciation for this thread. I don't think I'll have any wasted time for a while because I'll be coming back here when I have little to do. I have some links that I'll dig up and post later.

A fantastic beat poem by the skeptical comic Tim Minchin possibly of low educational content but a witty justification of the scientific process and well worth 10 minutes of your time.

Hi :

You may be interested in this thread from RichardDawkins.net forum : http://www.richarddawkins.net/forum/...hp?f=5&t=15585

It's similar thread to this one with many videos on science linked.
I think it's good idea to repost links here if someone finds some videos from there interesting. I just discovered it so I didn't have time to watch.

Take care
punter

John Medina talks about neuroscience. More specifically about influence of exercises on brain functions and things that makes happy marriage. Interesting talk. Author is very passionate about the subject.
I recommend all authors at google series. Many interesting people summing up their books in 1 hour speeches.

Description:
Dinesh D'Souza, Christian and best-selling author, faced off against Tufts professor, author, and atheist Daniel Dennett in a debate on the existence of god. The resolution for the debate was as follows: "God is a manmade invention." Daniel Dennett argued the affirmative, and Dinesh D'Souza the negative.
