I visited the Science Museum today, expecting to enjoy their collection of models of polyhedra. Instead, in the "Mathematics" section, all they had was applications of mathematics, like e.g. how it's used to make buildings not fall down. There's too much of this nonsense about. Shocking.

There ought to be a law against gravity; then buildings wouldn’t fall down. Seemingly complex problems sometimes have very simple solutions.

Would depend on the religion. Trees are gods in some religions, and self-improving AI is almost as cool as a tree.
