Who are worse- Aussies or the Irish?
.[/QUOTE]

The first famous aussie that came to my mind was Ned Kelly.
The Irish are like rats, ever since the potato famine. But it depends on the subject. Drinking, we win, fighting we win, Rugby it's getting close.

I lost my virginity to an aussie. I was 13 and she was 16. I put it in and in two seconds I was done so they beat the Irish in that department, even if her father's father was Irish.

Apparently Biden is a mick. No hard border under his admin he says. An Aussie is a less obnoxious but more cockier form of Englishman.

I'm pretty sure that we have thermometers down pat, so rest assured that your test was at least adequate

Naturally as other studies suggest more than half of people than come in contact with SARS cov 2 don't have any symptoms let alone a fever.

What is the definition of an infected person though. Well its not likely determined by a positive pcr test - that idiotically became gold standard for testing for the disease covid-19, which as I said is wrong on so many levels. A rapid antigen test is not only cheaper but more accurately can determine an actually infectious, infected person, and more quickly.

One more, for the road from Ivor as it involves the USA and south American countries. And besides it's all over soon anyways. But it's good to know. I for one will not take the vaccine but I recommend that my parents do.

The wiki article says a citation is needed for IR thermometer accuracy claim. Unless BTM just edited it.

Seems that the second link indicates that +/- 2 is accurate enough

How can they measure your temperature by pointing something at your forehead for two seconds on a cold day? Those things are incredible.

I want to come back and look into your first question as electronic engineering is my background. But since its Saturday and beyond noon and I am drinking I'll just say for now that the IR emitted by those guns travel at some speed very close to the speed of light.

That's a fun drinking game question. If I used Google for a minute I could find the answer. IR is emitted by the gun and bounces off an object preferably a forehead, and gets reflected back at the gun which must also have an IR detector. So common sense tells me the time it takes to travel back to the detector correlates with the object it bounced off in terms of temperature. Somehow.

A fun joke you can play on your loved ones is to aim the gun at a cup of hot Australian tea first without them seeing. And then point it at their face after the fact.

Black body radiation. Each body with some temperature emits radiation typically infrared range in this case of temperatures close to Planck Black body Radiation formulae if nearly "black".

You could see many ways to do that with wavelength maximum of distribution or energy rate emitted (power/intensity focusing on the object etc).

Like several other shops, the Aussies did not accept cash. I'd like a ruling on that one, please. Has some emergency law been passed that allows them to do this?

Do I want to sign up to their loyalty programme? Have I considered this tea, it's more Christmassy? How would they know? They have Xmas in the middle of summer FFS.

Are there actual "must accept cash" laws where you are?

Despite a fairly common belief that such laws exist, there are no such laws in the US (outside of a few states and a few cities).

No. I'm wrong again.

A shop owner can choose what payment they accept. If you want to pay for a pack of gum with a £50 note, it’s perfectly legal to turn you down. Likewise for all other banknotes, it’s a matter of discretion. If your local corner shop decided to only accept payments in Pokémon cards that would be within their right too. But they’d probably lose customers.

The Tottering Hams are leading in the Premier League. Early in the season I know but it's good to see the wretches and their fans have something to cheer about.

By the way, I looked up about the worst areas/locations in London and guess what?

I'll let Lastcardcharlie fill us in on the top ten worst places in London. I need it for my wish list on my next visit to London Town.

A long time ago when I was a student ago you could call the council in if you thought your rent was too high. The fair rent chap reduced ours to almost nothing and declared it was the worst place to live he had ever seem. And that before the flood in the entrance hall that led to months of floating telephone directories and winter mold that bloomed in the spring.

I nominate that as number 1.

Rotherhithe. Annihilated by the Luftwaffe, only to be rebuilt with mile upon mile of the most relentlessly soulless and mediocre architecture imaginable.

Canning Town. A very poor area. The residents look positively malnourished, and the children have got rickets.

South Bermondsey. Anywhere within a mile of the Millwall ground. A warren of scrap yards, scrap houses, railway arches and pure wasteland. A genuinely foreboding place. Bermondsey has a history of racist public housing policies, I think, so it’s mostly still fifth-generation white trash there.

For poverty and deprivation, parts of Harlesden, Lewisham, Peckham, Stratford, Walworth, Clapton, and almost all of the Borough of Mitcham.
