I watched 'The Devil Next Door'. I almost skipped it, from the trailer, which seemed and was made to seem that you get the jist of it all before watching. It has at least two good twists. Very interesting too to see the Israeli who defended him featured in it and how he thinks about it nowadays.

Actually no one in the movie came across as a nut case, which made it a mature outlook on mob activity as though from the outside. Because obviously Scorcese showed us the counterpart to that with goodfellas and casino.

My hunch is that scorcese watched the interviews we have now with former Italian American gangsters who didnt end up in jail and said that that was the vibe he wanted to portray. Smooth talkers on the outside but absolutely evil behind the scenes.
