38 unlucky bastards lives ruined potentially. Their own fault if they happen to have their names listed in the newspaper and that is somewhat of a problem.


So then. What was accomplished here. Nothing at all. Wouldn't the smart thing to do would be to legalise and regulate this carry on. How would this be arranged in scientific society

What was that one a-ha moment for you? Yeah that one. Either thought to you by a teacher or something you read. I bet you have at least one. And definitely one that has stuck with you.

My biggest one was when I was acting. As usual, I was the lead since I was the only one who could convincingly act like I was interested in the leading lady. As usual, a couple of days before dress rehearsal I still didn't know my lines. As usual, the other actors and actresses and the director found this distressing. They voiced their level of distress and displeasure quite clearly at me.

I told them that I was trying really hard to remember my lines. They did not believe me, even though I was making my best effortful face at them.

The director eventually thought to ask me how much time I was spending away from rehearsals reading the script.

"What?!? Why would I read the script? Wait. You all actually read the script?"

"Yes!" said everyone. Several of them said it in a mean sort of way.

That is when I learned that a lot of people actually work at things. It was a pretty big a-ha moment.

I had a high school history teacher tell us we might not get it while attending his class but due to experience sometime later in life we would remember something we learned in his class and have an ah-ha moment about it. The only thing I've ever remembered from that class is that he was standing on a chair when he said it.

Oh, wait. AH-HA!

Once, long ago, I was in the Memphis airport. I didn't see any butterflies. I did note that almost everyone talked funny.

I accidentally read this post without the context of the previous post and it was eerily wonderful.

Then Brian had to go and ruin it.

I just had one the other day.

My sister is under quite a lot of stress lately. Reason being, she and her husband want to build a house but they cant seem to find the proper place with their budget and wishes. Currently they are considering between two sub-optimal places and shes putting forward a lot of reasons as to why the places are bad.

So, I was trying to help her finding the best solution. Dont build a house you arent comfortable with, that youll have to pay off the next 40 years. Her reply: "But we have to move out of our current house in 8(!) years!"

Now I always knew women are special and I totally get that being a mother you want stability and the likes. But I hadnt realised that it was that bad. If something like having to move in 8 years gets you to freak out... I suddenly understand some of the more extrem female-emotions I had to experience in my time.

That's only one of his many talents.

It was raining on my way there. Foggy when I left this morning. I didn't talk to anyone, but they did look like they'd talk funny.

Atlanta tonight. It isn't boiling hot, which is nice. It is named after the atlatl.

Lee, everyone only gets a limited amount of joy in their lifetime. If I hadn't ruined this for you, you'd die prematurely.

Well now you're just being silly. There's no such thing as dying prematurely.

I'm also not entirely convinced of this whole "joy" thing.

Lee, whether something is premature or timely is a matter of opinion. Fortunately, you happen to find yourself in the presence of the arbiter of such things.

I can guarantee that you will have a specific number of joyful moments. We can count them. Don't waste them.

I find your gibberish amusing. But in a sad way.

That isn't a problem. The number of sad moments is indeterminate.

Also, don't be sad. It is better to avoid that.
