My dog has a solid 100% failure rate at exterminating the squirrels from around his pecan tree, despite a solid 100% attempt rate. And yet they both seem to still end up with plenty of nuts to eat.

If they only ate nuts and had fun in the tress that would be ok. But the m%&%%ers want to chew on anything and dig and destroy plants and flowers and even balcony woodwork and furniture and take down string lines and dance upside down on windows and whatever you have out there coming back at it with relentless ferocious in your face attitude. You can chase them 24/7, they will always come back always to mess up anything that has nothing to do with their food supply and survival. So death is here to rule the day damn it. I will first try ultrasound warfare. The problem is i dont know for sure this doesnt have side effects to innocent victims.

When cars hit them its sad but its their fault for not respecting a higher object and not taking their time to pass when its safe. They are cute only at a superficial level. They are actually malicious and unethical selfish persistent sobs without any kindness or hint of friendship.

Some people actually hunt and cook them. I have seen YouTube videos of it. I have no idea how they relate to rabbit meat which my grandpa used to hunt (and i was great when cooked with traditional Cretan recipes) and i have no time or desire to try any of these ideas even if it was allowed. I dont want them dead. Just gone to the trees and not anywhere not invited that has nothing to do with their survival. And i hate how fast they multiply so that you have endless more problems ahead. So yes if one can develop a way to tilt the living %^$^G out of them and control their population and make them run to nowhere land that would be enormously glorious and outstandingly tremendous (Trump territory) lol.

In any case Good Friday was for good acts to other people and squirrels will never go there to do good acts only to mess up the living daylights of everything good and to "crucify" plants and furniture. I would trade some lack of rudeness for weekly supplies of almonds, walnuts, peanuts and cashews if it were possible.

The world is a beautiful enough place to care for and still tough enough to need to be less naive than most idealists. The correct process is not to give up on raising your kids ethically but also teach them how to be efficient and how to survive in a cynical world without ever becoming cynical. You do that with the respect for the truth, science and math and a little game theory lol.
