We are all different. It’s always the stand out stuff that stands out to this door. All the “good drinkers” just carry on with spirit. Location is everything too. Scene. A nice easy spot with good spirits for all is always worth toasting.

He may think a dictator that is super wise or a philosopher king equivalent group of people.

But i think that we do not have that many great examples in history and the word is reserved for abusive leaders that torment their people and exploit power leaving behind countless victims like Genghis khan or at best Julius Caesar (with good times) or modern monsters like Hitler, Stalin and Mao. But of course even Mussolini or in recent decades Ceaușescu, Qaddafi, Saddam, the North korean family line since the war etc. These were all killers of many and brutal characters. Even great ones like Alexander the great had their dark hours.

I believe its possible to have a charismatic ethical leader for life that simply gets what is good for all and what needs to be done and motivates manipulatively the masses in directions that are ultimately good for them and who knows how to pick up the right people to help him. However i prefer a system that has many leaders that earn it by effort and skill and supported by a core democracy that makes it possible for everyone to rise to influence on merit and for the voice of the people on many issues related to their daily experience to always be heard and influence direction. However a correct direction may need indeed specialists and not the will of the masses in everything until we arrive at the point the masses are well educated and participate with care for citizenship.

I am not against a system that until then every person has different voting weight based on past record and skill or education or service to society.

I believe a poor education base allows the democracy to become a joke in the hands of powerful influence centers and manipulative charlatan politicians. So democracy without care for honest citizenship leads to tyranny of the idiot majority.

Ugh, We had to endure another unconstitutional public school prayer led by a pastor at the school-wide honors assembly during school hours . My child didn’t pray. We win. Plurality stands.

It’s the pastor of the church with the nice church sign. Dang gummit, it seems a good-intentioned Ned Flanders-level of dumb ass.

“Hi Diddly Ho neighbors, just a quick unconstitutional prayer before you award some of the kids.”

Jim Carrey angered Mussolini's granddaughter right after this post. I have no point. I am simply compiling a list of meaningful coincidences, lately.

Bostrom’s argument relates to a different point. He spends his time thinking about existential risk, i.e. risk that is global in scope and terminal in impact. He suggests, for example, that widespread use of easy-to-use gene modification technology would permit a single bad actor to kill everyone on the planet. Nation-states are not effective as a collective in regulating this sort of technology, and Bostrom supposes that a worldwide autocracy in some form might be required to save humanity.

He’s not making any observations more generally about the benevolence of dictators: just that a dictator may be the only option.

Weezer did a replica of Nirvana's 'In Bloom' with 'Buddy Holly.' A tribute to an irony of a thowback to 1960.

Anyway, I like this by Weezer, so I will play it for you now. Any requests you can learn to google. remember to share. And cheer up.

What stands out there may fit in well here. That's my postmodern response to your presupposed rigid rules of what rightly rules your playground.

Yeah, the neighborhood bar that has a laid-back, diverse regular clientele, plus tourists, where you can graffiti some of the walls and purchase beer from low prices to very high, kind of runs itself.

It sound like a brag, but it’s rarely more work than looking at IDs and keeping observant for drink-spikers when the crowd is near capacity.

I had to tell a semi-regular to stop pissing in the alley recently. I was firm but not rigid considering it’s felonious in that jurisdiction. Cheers!

I have it on good authority those boxes on the corners contain the bones of Oliver Cromwell - The one on the right his skull, the one on the left random bones from his feet and hands and rib splitters.

The idiot brits like to show off. I'm surprised there are no Mickey Mouse PEZ dispensers on that table.

Cambridge won the Boat Race today, Zeno.

In 1685, a storm broke the pole upon which Cromwell's head stood, throwing it to the ground (although other sources put the date anywhere between 1672 and 1703), after which it was in the hands of private collectors and museum owners until 25 March 1960, when it was buried at Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge.
