Re: SMP Life is Being Drunk -Random Content thread

Thanks, I have no doubt that you would send me some, but instead I will look for the Peloponnese the next time I buy some. The one I currently have is from Zakynthos. I wish your parents a good harvest.

Re: SMP Life is Being Drunk -Random Content thread

Zakynthos is very close to all this too on the same general area style and climate. Crete has good oil too and so do many other islands. The real thing makes salads a great experience and even simple cheese and bread taste great. It makes fried potatoes and fried eggs very tasty too and of course i can recognize the difference right away from one you buy in the markets because i have bought also occasionally when i ran out in the past. Some are good. Probably the more expensive the safer unless they know to exploit you.

I can tell, you like to cook, so you will enjoy the real thing if you can securely find a good reliable source. Maybe you have already. I wonder what is the deal with actually trying to import from Greece eg in Messinia from the place that produces it directly, avoiding the markets. I am going to ask my father if there is a procedure to order directly from the local pressing site as in they fill it and mail it to you. There must be some demand for such direct approach that avoids the entire company packaging and processing cycle with endless intermediaries. You could probably get that way 17 lt (the "denekes" shown in the video at the last few seconds being filled and the one below) for about 17*4=68$ and who knows 50-100 in shipping, the cheaper the better with a real cargo ship, even if it takes 1-2 months its ok, it makes the olive oil mature better to not be used immediately after production. It would be worth it and would last a year or more with usage mostly in cooking, desserts and salads rather than frying.

Something like

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Iliada-Kala...BYX14GQ3KK4NWF

but i wonder if the real direct pressing site can be attempted too.

I wouldn't even call it cooking. You can make e.g. a pasta sauce in a few minutes by frying some garlic, chilli, tomato, etc., using quality ingredients, that's cheaper and superior in every other way to a factory sauce out of a jar, and certainly to any take-away or home-delivered product. I'm not sure what I'd call it. Scientific society will render these alternatives redundant, of course.

I eat way too much spaghetti.

Re: SMP Life is Being Drunk -Random Content thread

Yes if you do it using olive oil plus the other ingredients you can create great fresh pasta sauce and a nice comfort food with parmesan cheese etc. Add some salad and "spanakopita" dessert and its beautiful.

Scientific society will make that even more beautiful and realistic. You will have your own tomato, garlic, onions, oregano, and other herbs from your own home since every home has its garden and small greenhouse and is tending to be self reliant. Robots will be cultivating and taking care of the garden and watering plants, cleaning them from pests etc all the stupid rituals daily, bringing them to your kitchen once a week or when asked, and if you want to cook you will cook, if tired the robot would cook it according to the recipe it has followed you do when you achieved perfect taste. The robot would get it perfect every time, because it would be optimized if you didnt want to try it on your own. If one wants instead to not have their garden used, they can have it cultivated and products sold to others for money and other benefits.

If one wants to live in a very compact setting without a big self sufficient home they can choose that too.

But every home will have its own power production, food production, medical testing, health fitness center, sex fun center, higher intellect entertainment cultural center, arts center, educational center, you name it, all provided by AI and cheap energy.

It's gonna be great. And all left would be to wonder what on earth it took us so long to get there.

Can you imagine those things you saw with the olive trees (all the harvesting procedure) done by robots how huge productivity would be? You do not pay robots anything. They get energy from the sun and they work 24/7, also cleaning everything and removing any bad effect to environment and reprocessing all material. They bring you home the olive oil and the olives for consumption. The average field if taken care of by robots daily and optimized with fertilizer as needed and defended from pests intelligently would have amazing yield, like 10x more than current. Add to that the ability to get water from atmosphere or using solar energy or fusion pump it from the sea desalination centers to the mainland and you can turn endless currently arid lands to beautiful areas to enjoy.

The whole thing is scientific damn it, that's the point. Even revolting against it is scientifically done. You can try experimental structure worlds. Why would it also not be scientific about what pleases the brain and liberates the soul to do interesting things and have fun.

If you want to pick olives together with robots they would let you help them.

I think price in Greece is about 3-4 euros per kgr. If they do not mess with it after the pressing site with additives or other ideas then its the real deal in your market too, especially if this PDO thing is respected 100%. If i find it here i will get it and taste it to see what it is like. I tried to find something from Messinia in Amazon's uk site to see if they had something good.

Report from Mom; this year's family share ended at 13 of these 17lit tin "denekedes". Those taking care of the process and the fields all year of course get over 50% of the production so the olive trees land owner that no longer participates in the process all year other than random simple things, gets the rest.

It is not a profitable enterprise by any means, probably breakeven, just a quality product in the end that you know its not processed beyond the basics. With AI however it would be super productive.

Re: SMP Life is Being Drunk -Random Content thread

I am open to ideas about how to make it more interesting. Simulation with real people on the other side but the contact is with AI robots emulating their own body moves on the other site? How about real sex but computerized assistance during it to keep it interesting and interactive. How about female/male robots that are very realistic? It is a stupid process if not the real thing but the illusion can enhance it moreover the stupidity of it all.

How about the center is equipped with all kinds of creative settings and fantasies, foreplay , romance ideas, offering suggestions to actual live participants but the sexually transmitted diseases are tested in real time and neutralized or hedged, hygiene optimized etc? Also definitely warm pool, sauna etc all kinds of goodies, massage for both by robots until they are super stimulated etc.

Also dont forget in scientific society you have real professionals that 100% enjoy sex and their function and you can have sessions with them for educational purposes once a month etc. If you take out the possibility of abusive life conditions for the workers (being led there without their actual "choice") then its back on as ok with me.

Re: SMP Life is Being Drunk -Random Content thread

Am sitting outside at a different Starbucks than my usual sipping the free coffee given to me by the Barrista bec of this conversation:

Barrista: Hello! How are you today?
Me: Terrible.
Why?
Iím suffering from a severe existential crisis.
Whatís an existential crisis?
Life, in a deterministic universe is cold and meaningless and not worth living in.

(The Barrista is clearly flummoxed)

But he came up with a solution!

I got my Venti Pike Roast for free.

You are the universe Howard, expressing itself. Don’t be so hard on yourself. A Sagan quote I believe and what the Eastern religions have been saying for a while.

Mostly you feel as you though you have free will. Sometimes others who may or may not have free will attempt to make you do things against your will. Only the latter is to ever worry about. So just don’t

But you can get free coffee by quick, stealthy theft. Instead of a degrading plea. Mark Twain would use the former method. You chose badly.

Pretty sure there are legal precedents for what free will is. Howard Treesong can provide the details.

Ireland 16 - 9 New Zealand

On top of hammering the English on St. Patricks day of this year to win the 6-nations.

I rest my case. 2019 world cup is coming home. The American team will, and are certainly entitled to take place but rest assured their presence will be futile.
As a pragmatist.

On a grander picture, their participation may lead to bigger things for them in the future. Cue the laughter.

What's going on here is happening in the here and now. The past is the electro-chemical state of the brain occurring in the present.

We are living in the utopia of our ancestors. H.G Wells, Minsky and people living today e.g Kurzweil, were or are so oblvious to this fact.

Imagine our ancestors saying things of the nature such as, in the future they will have electric devices that can keep meat fresh indefinitely! Won't life be just perfect then!

Happiness can't be obtained nor can the happiness from the goals you set forth be obtained if you are unable to enjoy the present.
Peace out.

When I was a sales manager and had to hire a new salesperson, I'd take them out on an interview in my car. I'd pull up to a swanky-ish hotel and say, "get us a couple of coffees. Make mine black."

If they actually returned with coffees, I'd ask them if they paid for the coffees. If they had, I'd pay them off and be done with them. Coffee is free.
