It's a bit hit and miss with the the beer at Weatherspoons. Tis a strange place that caters in part for the people with no taste at all who drink nonsense, and partly for old men drinking real ale.

They do support local breweries and Wimbledon is close enough to two good breweries: Twickenham and the awesomly good Surrey Hills.

Surrey Hills brewing is located between the towns of Leatherhead and Dorking. That's rich. If the brew is first rate however then getting it from the barn is ok. Very American.

A smart, decent playing poker buddy claims to have Pi memorized to 290 digits. Believable or should I call BS?

I’m fairly sure that statistic is false. China has locked up more than a million Uighurs in re-education camps and I suspect there are a number of other countries (eg North Korea) that lie about their numbers. But carry on.

Read the Sep 8 NYT article on Uighur re-education in mass detainment camps. The article notes that the camps are not criminal in nature and thus likely not reported in the stats you cite.

Well, that’s been a constructive dialog.

I memorized Pi to five decimal places (3.14159). That was all that is required for most calculations that were almost always rounded up to significant digits anyway. Any memorization more than that is a waste of time and memory and clogs up brain cells.

Tonight, as Saturday turned into Sunday, I had someone banging on the roof or walls, I am still unsure. I had to ask my pal was he playing or is there someone seriously complaining about the noise. He said, 'nah kid, a neighbour, is banging.'

I went downstairs to my door, ready to be reasonable. However, no one was there to be seen.

Naturally, I went back up and turned the music back up.

Bang bang again.

This time, as I opened my door, I hear footsteps rushing down the stairs. My fist was clenched, just in case.

A foreigner, came to the door and complained.

I asked if she had she work in the morning. She lied by saying yes.

I ****ing worked my bollocks off to have that moment and I have a foreigner essentially living rent free complain to my face about noise.
