Your husband and father of your children joined the army knowing full well that the risk was there. That is a brave decision. Only a few people make that decision and remain faithful to it to the last moment when duty calls. Fallen with fellow men but never defeated.

I cannot remove your pain. All i can do now on behalf of a grateful nation is to recognize his sacrifice and offer a symbolic gesture, possibly a foundation in his name and other fallen soldiers to celebrate something they loved that each family know they cared for. Maybe we can turn the pain into love for the others this foundation will reach in his name.

He could then proceed to help the creation of a foundation that every family of fallen soldiers can submit a project that will preserve forever in a meaningful way our response to their sacrifice.


This and countless other things like that make impossible for others to hate what you stand for. You unite people in their pain and turn it into a gift for others. The gift will make the pain one day something very different. A tear of final victory.

i set a deadline to quit by 2.11. i think ill do it. my deadlines do matter to me. so it feels like there is something to lose. there are a higher stakes i can set to make it happen. but for now ill wait and see if a deadline is enough. day off work today. my god these are hard. 11 hours of not eating a crumb. i have a habit to never eat anything before being awake for at least 11 hours. on work days its easy. the work distracts me. but at home. my stomach is so freaking loud. like someone is chewing gravel that is complaining about it. so i go back into full time my time in 28 days. i think. might be a bit more. cant be a lot more. its hard to forget that the way i live is actually way harder when not having a a full time day job. cant help but crave it though. tried to think whether i would actually quit and i realized i couldnt not quit even if i tried. its just too hard. im quitting out o weakness really. it just also happens to be the right thing to do. manager tried to bring his manager to tell me to stay. abit flattering, but im not the type you can really sway. a tree that wont bend no matter the gust. i set my roots, i make my plans. and it doesnt matter how hard the wolf blows. my house will stay in place

In the interest of the topics drinking and life, I picked up a gig as the fill-in door person at my favorite local beer spot. My first night some drunk lady from Tennessee told me I looked like a celebrity and then said.." I look like Susan Sarandon, she's a whore." I had nothing to say. But I did think to myself 'how does she know that?' 🤣

What is the attraction to drinking daily? Do you have to be have alcoholic/addict genes to understand?

I mean it's fun once in a while to let go but it gets so ****ing boring after a couple of days. All alcoholics I've met seem infected with some kind of deep self pity or self loathing...is it a self destructive thing? "It hurts so good" kind of thing? I have trouble wrapping my mind around it.

People don't suck. They are like French fries. Some are quite good, some poorly made.

The crispy ones that are fluffy in the middle are quite nice.

People is more than half a reason to go to a bar. I actually drink infrequently, but go to a bar semi-frequently. Which appears to be a formula for eventually working at a bar.
