What hit a home run for me was reading an excellent book about the Dreyfus Affair. Then I moved on. To some really good Beer.

By the way, for those that care, there is an excellent article in the new Commentary Magazine, The Threat to Free Speech. It is an article that is worth your time to read. And it may not be what you think it is, or should be. Have a whiskey and soda and enjoy. And keep your begging bowl and monk robes in the closet.

Somebody tell me that the second half of War and Peace is better than the first bec it's been a slog so far. If I ever run across someone who says this book w/ it's leaden prose and multitude of uninteresting characters composed nearly entirely of the Russian aristocracy is the 'greatest novel ever written' I am going to ridicule them.
