Wife got hit by a drunk driver tonight. Couple of broken bones and a few fingernails missing. Police state kept me from attacking the driver. Barely even needed to restrain me.

I didn't like it, but I am pretty sure it is for the best that a meathead with a badge was in the way.

The best to the wife and a smooth recovery to full health. Fighters hold up and heal up well. It will probably be more of an ordeal dealing with insurance companies, the medical establishment and medical bills, and - has you have already experienced - the Police.

If you need some extra backup you know who to call, first. The others have your back also of course. SMP'ers know what justice is all about.

She will be fine. She got her bell rung pretty good, but it was already more or less a vestigial organ. Just some broken fingers, a bunch of skin missing and some bruises otherwise.

Sorry to read all of this, wish your wife a speedy recovery, ofc, and it's a good thing you didn't hit the other driver. I was in a 3-way on a highway caused by a drunk and the third guy punched the drunk in the face and got hauled off to the klink when the drunk told them he had. I saved him, though. Some law dude called and asked if I saw the third guy hit the drunk bec he denied it and I said he absolutely didn't hit the drunk and w/e injuries the drunk might've gotten must've come from him falling down so much.

Law dude answers: 'I knew you were going to say that.' Never heard about it again.

I've never had a three-way on a highway. I've been a drunken partial cause of several three-ways, but that seems irrelevant. I'd Doctor Seuss this, but as we all know, there are no words that rhyme with highway.

She was being a silly person at the time (a "pedestrian"). Fortunately, the drunk uninsured driver who hit her was driving a Ford F150. She fit neatly underneath it like she was purpose built to be run over by it.

The best part was her reaction when I got to her, "honey, I didn't like it."

Sorry, Brian. Sounds like you two got unlucky, but lucky because it could have been so much worse. You should go into the chance thread where DS argues about penalties for drunk driving and see if his points make more sense right now.
