I been driving all over BFE doing flood response and I missed my exit on I44, so I had to take the next one and backtrack. Right then I noticed a sign reading "Check point ahead: canine unit."

I briefly thought to myself, "boy this is gonna look suspicious, me flipping a bitch right after THAT sign, lol," and then noticed two cop cars parked slightly hidden out of view....

It was a tarp, apparently. Thankfully, I had official credentials in the car and no longer think ****ing with cops is fun. We BS'd about it awhile. I asked them if they ever caught anyone that way, and he said it's been working for twenty years! I44 a drug corridor he said.

To that end, our cops have their own avenues of stealing from the citizen. For example, there are speed-limit changes every kilometre or so (unnecessarily) that mainly serve to distract drivers and don't improve road-safety. Sometimes, there's 4 speed-limit changes within 1 KM. In the 80s they discovered that the more speed-limit changes they impose, the more money they make on people speeding. Happens to work.

Nonetheless, I'm lucky to be in the land down under, considering my lifestyle choices.

Is drug driving like drunk driving but on drugs? How do they tell? There are some fishy laws on the books on that topic in my neck of the woods.

They don't even test for the level of drugs in your system, but simply test if there's any (of any level) in there.

As an example, I did MDMA at a musical festival. Slept 8 hours after. Ate, drank lots of water, and prepared myself for the drive back. Started driving 15 hours after having the last bump.

Got done.

I was sober as a judge, but that doesn't seem to matter, since it was still in my system somehow (the most minute of amounts I can imagine).

When I asked the cop: how come you don't test for the level of drug that is in my system, as you do for alcohol?

His answer was: I don't comment on that.

Later I read up on it, and I discovered that lawyers are currently trying to change this: referring to it as "breach of human rights" to take someone's license away from them when you have no evidence of intoxication. The fact I have a tiny amount of MDMA in my system is not evidence of intoxication.

I would argue further, that even in the case of having lots of MDMA in your system, there is no evidence of impairment: as it would make you drive better if anything. Somehow I feel, this argument would be ignored however.

Thanks to the war on drugs there's a countless amount of so called designer drugs synthesized in the last few years being passed off as MDMA and LSD killing people.

Back in 2011 I drove the next morning to work after drinking the night before. I slept for 7 hours and was enough over the limit to get put off the road for 2 years. Boy did I learn my lesson.

My recent story involves some fictional AI conjecture around the idea of a ghost immortal super intelligence inhabiting the machine which is an intergalactic scale network and uses the Dyson sphere holodecks to capture the 'fantasy universe' the heroes inhabit and translates it into the psuedo-science fiction universe using the powerful simulation technology. This plot hatched from an early plot where the hero killed the immortal intelligence and the immortal escape death using knowledge of a universes which held a system which could contain a consciousness and a magical method to send that consciousness across universe.

Ah fiction. Plus swords.
