No my numbers are correct as primes. I just called it 1030 digits (but only n=1030 max in the sum not the digits) but it was 1031 as i presented it and as it was found of course and same for the others add 1 more. This is why i gave the expression to make it clear what i meant. I misspoke but the number is correct.

1031 1s is prime.

How many 1s is this supposed to be, then? Because 1,822,317 1s is divisible by 3.

No you misunderstood what i posted. That number is not 1822317 1s, its 18+1,22+1,316+1 1s (ie 19,23,317 1s are 3 primes also, the smaller possibilities of the 1031 1s top record holder so far).

I am just trying to create a prime we can all remember that is also cool looking lol.

Also no new record up to 6001 digits. Still 1031 is the top known.

Should turn on the light if a fire was close by as well...

The light could cause the LDR's resistance to drop so the output of the LDR voltage divider would give a logic 0 to the input to the NAND and the PNP transitor won't switch.

I was thinking more along the lines of any wall in the pid's view heating up (fire in another room).

I wonder if it would freak out a cat?

Thanks spank.

Maybe we should dedicate a thread in smp where posters post things they are currently working regardless of what they are, except for cooking there's one of those already. I'm sure a lot of people are doing things in their spare time...

Do we know of any number theory arguments to restrict the search to 11......1 = sum(10^k,k,0,n}] to some well selected n other than the obvious 6n+1,6n+5 (to eliminate the 3x and 2x cases which however do not help the search speed rally because the delay is on the big numbers that have huge prime factors not the ones that are divided by 3 or 11 easily that the search instantly eliminates).

Like can we say something about n if the sum is prime that is highly restrictive (some mode style theorem of any kind)?

so far n+1 was 19,23,319,1031 and nothing else all the way to 12001 was found.

So far 3/4 were primes ie 19, 23, 1031 digits are primes in the number of digits too. But 319 was 11*29.

Are there infinite primes of that type or not?

The lotto in my country used to have a choice of 36 numbers. So a syndicate tried buy every combination of numbers guaranteeing a win and turnover.

quote
In a 6/36 lottery, the odds of matching all six numbers and winning the jackpot are 1 in 1,947,792. At Lotto's initial cost of £0.50 per line, all possible combinations could be purchased for £973,896. This left Lotto vulnerable to a brute force attack, which happened when the jackpot reached £1.7 million for the May 1992 bank holiday drawing. A 28-member Dublin-based syndicate, organized and headed by Polish-Irish businessman Stefan Klincewicz, had spent six months preparing by marking combinations on almost a quarter of a million paper playslips. In the days before the drawing they tried to buy up all possible combinations and thus win all possible prizes, including the jackpot.

To prevent such a brute force attack from happening again, the National Lottery changed Lotto to a 6/39 game later in 1992, raising the jackpot odds to 1 in 3,262,623

The National Lottery tried to foil Klincewicz's plan by limiting the number of tickets any single machine could sell, and by turning off the terminals his ticket purchasers were known to be using heavily. Despite its efforts, the syndicate did manage to buy over 80 percent of the combinations, spending an estimated £820,000 on tickets. It had the winning numbers on the night, but two other winning tickets were also sold, so the syndicate could claim only one-third of the jackpot, or £568,682. Match-5 and match-4 prizes brought the syndicate's total winnings to approximately £1,166,000, representing a profit of approximately £310,000 before expenses. Klincewicz later appeared on the television talk show Kenny Live and wrote a self-published lottery-system book entitled Win the Lotto.

Just came across the following Line at the end of an article about Tesla:

"When predicting the future you can actually influence the future you predict, which is the theory of relativity, the answer to Schrodinger’s Cat theory."

Thought I share this here with you guys.

eg. Kurzweil predicting that the singularity will happen in 2045 increases the likelihood that it may, by projecting the idea to public and getting people interested and therefore working towards it.

Imagine if governments put as much funding into AGI as they did the Manhattan project for example.

My recent hobby work involves story with a Dyson sphere-sized holodeck being used to destroy a fantasy universe and a group of anti-heroes ( played by some of my friends) being thrust into the mythical position of saving that universe through tactical miniature combat.

I've been crafting and testing basic math riddles that can be solved in the confines of such a grid based mechanic.

Still no higher 1111...11 prime up to 24001 digits. This search just got into a major gap (desert) area. 1031 1s remains the record for now.
