Powerball.com is 504... Gateway time out. Everyone wants to know how much I will win tomorrow.

In the last 2 powerball rounds alone this society will have paid 2.2 bil $ in order to receive back 0.9 bil after all is paid (bs and taxes etc).

What good could one do with 2.2 bil that would give society back 100b in 30 years? Any ideas? The failure of our society as currently structured is that even the best idea about this would never get any support by even 1% of these people but the illusion of a super rich transition will always unite them. In fact if we could design a rigged system that never creates a winner we could get from all these people even another 10 bil without any problem. A 6% chance of no winner this round can easily lead to another 2 bil $ spent.

I don't think Zeno is willing (or possibly capable) of giving a slightly sad smile. He can pull off a wistful smile, but that is entirely different. Given that I have observed him sipping a shot of tequila, I am certain that he can sip scotch.

Not all of it. What i have a problem with is that they do not advertise upfront that 50% goes to this and that purpose (eg eduation). It should be something they are proud of, not something to hide with bs like one time sum payments being 40% less and not exactly clear presentation of how much goes to jackpot every week. And dont forget the 39% that will go to taxes on the jackpot where you better believe it its not going all to proper projects because a ton of it is eg for the defense budget in the end (about $2000 per year per citizen almost 40% of the planet's or something like that).

Also what is the chance that people wouldnt be buying the lottery if you told them it goes to some obscure XYZ fund without any details ever presented?

The lottery in my country is nontaxable. As is the euromillions depending on which country you win and reside in.
They say the lottery in my country is not for profit and instead invest in the arts, welfare and others.
