Back to the fowl,
A small Jay made it into the house the other day. Which caused the cats to go to red alert. They ran from room to room as the bird fled from room to room. Even the dog got into it at the door, as I led the bird out with my handy stick in one hand and holding the collar with the other. Lucky bird IMO.

In the future a robot hover camera phone would have made a youtube of it all for ya'll.

Or an especially alert coonass.

Anyway, that's exactly it, Slobodan. You couldn't possibly have. Well met via dura.

The old rusty metal's a nice bit. Get that nice thread of willful forging going.

The French go crazy for oysters, of course.

My mother was sick on them one time. Like, in a hospital.

Hey, that's prejudiced against political incorrectness.

Thats rather an understanding that political incorrectness, when properly balanced to not be excessive and detrimental to others at some important level, is an indication of higher care and intellect, honesty and in fact social empathy at a deeper level than the naive political correctness that appears to be lazy, simplistic, conformist, willing to railroad complexity and restrict freedom of speech and thought even, hence undermine the scientific method and eventually the very causes it is trying to help.

So a little bit of political incorrectness combined with genuine care in issues that matter and a difference can be made is the right amount of ethics lol.

Yeah, pretty much. PC is irretrievably middle class and third-rate.

PC is a very good thing. Far too good to let some unpleasant people make us stop being PC just because they are as well.

One of two obligatory clips (poss NSFW bit rude in parts): Stewart Lee with added notes from his book which is one of the few not to read on a train if you get embarrassed by suddenly bursting into laughter.

That's more a people problem than a PC problem. (I've never read the book obviously)

A highly amusing (to me anyway) moment in my life was wishing Stewart Lee was dead when a chemist wouldn't sell me three packs of painkillers because two is the max allowed - 'political correctness gone mad' he said without a trace of irony.

If only Stewart lee was dead he would looking up with so much pleasure was something like my first thought

My second was about asking the chemist if it was because all the pills are white?

[my apologies for this and all future repetitions of this story]

I've been walking a pair of Kiel adidas shoes over a couple months to the point where the label of the cities have eroded to lose the bottoms of the city's lettering.

If anybody forgets to send their cards out, I'll ask my kid if we can use his expected time machine to rectify the error.

PC is a fine thing when not used as a weapon.

Strange game. Only winning move is not to play. Masque*, would you like to play a nice game of chess?

Take the politically out of it and you are left with correct.

Change correct to accurate and replace politically with information. Switch them around.

The result is accurate information.

Now argue that it's not accurate information because it is politically incorrect to say that it is in fact accurate information. Welcome.

How do you solve that? Change argument to discussion. Nobody loses, nothing worth hiding in a discussion. Esp. when it comes to the joint intention to find agreeable accurate information. If it is a problem being discussed, accurate information leads to more accurate solutions.

But nobody wins (except the delusional everybody) and that is boring and inconvenient. This is all probably totally politically incorrect and accurate information.

Much as discussing PC is one of my 12th favorite activities, we have to get this thread back to business.

Greensand ipa and Laphroig Whisky makes for a very good xmas boozeup. If the food was a 100th of the quality it would still have been better than it was.
