My "rocket science" is in fact a severe form of sentimentality but it requires to be profoundly emotional to get why!

To be honest of course i still dont know for sure what really was meant in the sentence so i took it to mean that Brian as a kid lost a balloon and his parent still remembers it (which of course it depends on why and how they remember it and can be a beautiful thing even, hence the kid videos but with the eerie music to make the effect profoundly psychological in its implications to the untouched soul of the child or the parent lol)? Isnt it it obvious from my style that i speak of an intelligent kid and therefore a kid that is an adult now...Only one like that can get all these...

It might even mean that Brian was the parent that remembered the balloon his own kid lost and the mentioning of the event to the kid recently made the kid puzzled that their dad still remembered it, hence prompting Brian to sadly or sarcastically see himself as the "terrible" parent that still remembered the event seemingly for the wrong reasons (to a young adult kid it might look that way, as in "look what he still remembers, how unimportant") while in fact for the best of them (as the currently emotional dad that once as young dad saw their kid lose the balloon and melancholically remembered the event , the "balloon" now being the distant memory today of a that day which like the balloon left to fly into the future ...like we all did, never recognizing the level of loss our parents endured when we left home at some level, rarely to return again, yet the parent never losing faith it could still happen).

Yes. Good. Now we're getting somewhere.

I missed that interpretation. I thought he was being critical of himself as a parent.

If so then aren't they more likely to prevent their kid accidentally letting go of the balloon making their child a better parent which is being a good parent even if it's by accident.

Yeah, but what if the child doesn't have any children?

Trying my hand at deciphering a BTM puzzle post, I took it to mean that it's a mistake for a parent to hold onto his kids too tightly. He needs to know when to let go. That becomes more difficult for someone who had a bad experience letting go of something in the past. Usually, when a child lets go of a helium balloon he doesn't realize he's going to lose it forever. It hurts to lose it.

I knew. Fortunately they bought me a new one.

It would be good for all to remember that Brian's head is actually a helium balloon. That explains a great deal.

Much more important and interesting:

Two pilots have surpassed the world distance and duration records with a flight across the Pacific Ocean in a helium balloon. See link below.

Just had a major fire on a BA 777 on the ramp at McCarren, 2 injured and the plane may be a write off.

The balloon thing turned into a Rorschack Test.

It wasn't about my parents. They did the correct thing when I let go of the balloon. They told me that everything I will ever love will end the same way except with less floating being involved.

Ha ha. If you believed that, you are an idiot. I wouldn't have mentioned it here. What really happened is that my dad said "dumbass, I told you that if you let go, it'd float away. If you love something hold on to it as if your life depends on it. That 'set it free' thing is BS."

Like duh, what really happened is that my Pap Pap threw my Grammy up in the air and she caught it and brought it back down for me.

They were, perhaps, far too concerned with preventing me from being inoculated against small harms.

That didn't happen either, but it was the best I could come up with.

Mine floated to a high ceiling where I watched it slowly grow old and whither until it dropped dead to the ground.

The flight deck crew seems to have been nothing short of amazing. After making a cabin page announcement saying we have had a major engine failure, and we won't be going anywhere soon, then ordering the evacuation, he got on the radio and told the tower he was evacuating the aircraft on the runway.

He was as calm as a guy ordering a beer at his favorite bar.

What happened with your carry on items? Did you leave them behind because was ordered to so while evacuating and how would your retrieve them and identify who has what?

After the important life security questions are checked the real nuisance comes alive again as the most important thing in the world lol.

Yeah i would like to see how calm he would be if he knew the engine failure has a line of fuel leak that goes into the xyx compartment near the cockpit and will explode in 4 min if people dont evacuate in exactly that time...lol. Everybody can be calm if they kind of know what comes next and its not terrible.

The real hero is the guy that knows he is in trouble but recognizes that appearing to be vulnerable and afraid will compromise the process and reduce the chance from say 25% survival to 1%. That is the value of a man. The guy that knows he is likely dead but the only choice is to treat it as if he will prevail and there is no alternative. What do you do if your car falls in a lake and starts going to the bottom and cant open the door or window while still at the surface. Are you prepared to think how hard it is to see in the darkness? And yet all you need is to realize that you have at least 45 sec to 1 min to relax, find the window and open the door if the pressure is ok or break the seat window even if it takes 5 hits with your legs to get out (and that yes you can do it in this time frame if motivated like there is no tomorrow). If you allow yourself to think what can go wrong in that sequence you have lost already.

Your mysterious mountains
I wish to see closer
May I land my kinky machine

Although your world wonders me

Your people I do not understand

And you'll never hear surf music again
The art of tribute.
