The Free World can always use more energy and exuberance.

So I wonder what the odds were of me remembering someone saying the words 'is a commitment' the moment as I open a thread and see above picture. Also combined with above picture being some kind of pipe dream.

Isn't everything literally subliminal if this is?

It's hard working in the cold. I just don't feel right until we hit triple digits in Vegas. You know 111, 222, 333, etc.

You are right LAS. I should take comfort in any psychological difference between double digits and triple. Especially when it is time to mow the yard.

What's the name of the cognitive bias where your knee-jerk reaction to criticism is denial of any wrongdoing? It occurs in incidents of road rage, for example.

Attribution bias. Other people behave based on their personalities, you behave based on the situation.

I stopped drinking for 6 months or so over 30 years ago.

Can't hardly drive down the street without encountering this, but not what I was trying to get at.

Not thinking that you ran the red light but the situation justified it, whereas the guy who does it at the next lights is a jerk, but thinking you didn't run the red when in fact you did. Thinking that you're not talking juvenile garbage when as a matter of fact you are (see the PU forum). People don't like being factually wrong, man.

That is what the attribution bias is, and what you got at. Don't think about it the wrong amount unless you have a decent sense of humor.

As long as you don't spill your drink it should be ok.

Am i the only one who had a clear distinct memory of not running a red light but believed the witness who said I did?

Was the witness a red light camera, by any chance?

No. This was my 14th best professor (+/-10):

The word "confabulation" is wonderful.

(I am not you, so I have no recollection of events that happened at you. I assume that there is a weird pronoun or two)

I've got a strong case of it, but it is countered by a lack of anasognosia from what I can ascertain..

Anasognosia is also a good word.

No a random person. It's just fairly obvious that they were more reliable than me even though I was being totally honest about my vivid recollection. I do wonder how people think their brains work.

Also people take themselves far too seriously. Being so marvelous I don't do that.

Except how to pronounce it?

Quote:
Anosognosia results from physiological damage to brain structures, typically to the parietal lobe or a diffuse lesion on the fronto-temporal-parietal area in the right hemisphere.
Does alcohol cause such damage? I know several alcoholics who have little self-awareness.

I stop drinking multiple times a day, sometimes 5,6,7, or even 8 times a day. After beer one, I stop drinking. Then I drink beer two. Then I stop again. And then drink beer three, (or a whisky perhaps) and etc. It takes practice but you too can stop drinking if you have the will power.

I have no idea if this is Attribution Bias but I certainly hope so. I want to be in with whatever everyone else is doing.
