Yeah if you’re going to drink crappy Italian liquors at least be a man and get some Fernet-Branca or something.

Judging by the way he writes I've thought the liquor cabinet would be much larger,

What we need is a pic of the fridge which must be filled w/ beer and enough room left over for a jar of pickles.

I've has some fantastic lemocello in Southern Italy. All homemade (which is the tradition I believe).

Correct! My friend in Sicily informed me this is quite common.

I thought I would try a low carb diet. It was easy, so I just went balls to the walls - ketogenic. My BMI is one point above the max recommended point. So I am relatively a lean man.

I could be wrong but I suspect this is the way to go. I am genetically destined for heart disease. So, not to be outdone, Im doing it backwards to what the last few decades of corporate science has recommended which gave my father and all his brothers either heart attacks, strokes or diabetes.

So it seems to avoid insulin resistance, I should cut out starchy foods completely. I eat predominantly fat. Olives. Yoghurt. Avocados. Coconut milk. Macadamia nuts. Grass fed beef fried in butter or lard. My carbs come from sources such as above ground vegetable and low carb fruits such as berries. Lost five pounds since Monday. almost within the right BMI range.

Scrambled eggs with cheese, and the odd processed meat such as bacon. Hamurgers with cheese but no bun. The bun is the killer. Plot twist.

Looking forward to seeing my LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in my latest blood test. Things I didnt understand two weeks ago. It's amazing what you can learn if you put your mind to it for a day or two.
No beer though. Contains carbs. So It's wine, gin, vodka etc.

This was the seed I believe. So I began listening to so called experts and doctors. An array of coincidences and some intuition thereafter.

Lots of beer in the fridge, mostly IPA’s. No pics; classified info.

Quality liquor is more important than quantity. Besides the poor stuff can just go about anywhere.

It is amazing how good people are at marketing diets.

It is even more amazing that I am amazed by that fact.

The world spiraling down into a cesspool of draconian despotism is accelerating. Not unexpected nor surprising but nonetheless very annoying. SMP stands alone as a beacon of Freedom. Until we are all confined to the Gulag; electronically or physically.

Some words of caution, wisdom, and predication from someone that lived them. Below is an exert from Joseph Anton, A Memoir*, by Salmon Rushdie. Random House, New York, 2012, 633p. First Edition [exert from p. 360, italics in original]:

We should all be free to take the grand narratives to task, to argue with them, to satirize them, and insist that they change to reflect the changing times. We should speak of them reverently, irrelevantly, passionately, caustically, or however we chose. That was our fight as members of an open society. In fact, one could say that our ability to re-tell and re-make the story of our culture was the best proof that our societies were indeed free. In a free society the argument over the grand narratives never ceased. It was the argument itself that mattered. The argument was freedom. But in a closed society those who possessed political or ideological power invariably tried to shut down these debates. We will tell you the story they said, and we will tell you what it means. We will tell you how the story is to be told and we forbid you to tell it in any other way. If you do not like the way we tell the story then you are an enemy of the state or a traitor to the faith. You have no rights. Woe betide you! We will come after you and teach you the meaning of your refusal.

******************

A predication that has and will continue to be very prescient. I see no need to embellish the above; it is clear, concise, and stated eloquently. It was, in 2012 (and previous to that), and still is, and will continue to be a light to shine in the darkness of our times and on into the future. If you dare. And SMP Does Dare.

If you dare not, join the herd of sheep and soak up whatever sanctimonious propaganda, draconian agenda, or anti-freedom stance that gets your Nipples Hard or makes your cock Stand at Attention. Join the despotism. And when it turns on you - well, that is just another warning for another post.

* An excellent read, mainly about his years in forced hiding.

Just watched the movie "Room". About a mother and 5 year old boy she gave birth to in a room in a shed where they've been held captive by a man who abducted her when she was a teenager. From the boy's perspective there is nothing real except what's in "Room". There is no outside, no other side of the wall. They have a TV but he doesn't believe anything he sees on it is real. It's all like a cartoon. I have a new appreciation for Billy Shear's flat earth point of view. When they escape everything is amazing for the boy.

"I want another story"

Considering the reality we're aware of compared to the reality we're unaware of, are we not all living in Room?

You ought to try this one. Donald Hoffman - cognitive psychologist at UC Irvine - didn't swallow the red pill. He chugged down the entire jar.

Our room is big enough I think. That kid thought the same though. You don't know what you are missing. Ok, but if i don't know should i care. Yes and no. Meh. My happiness level is low. How much of that can be explained by idiotic overreaction to covid is unsure to me. I've been generally happier than this. Then again, i've been worse. What are we doing anymore.
Break on through to the other side. If evolution favoured a certain kind of truth, which is not the whole truth - why obsess about a truer objective reality? Will knowing the truth that evolution hid favour our goal at survival. Afterall it was hid to help us survive as Hoffmann proposes. But he wants the truth nonetheless.

After a few beers, ill become more obnoxious. Here is the truth as it pertains to covid. Why dont i post this in the politics thread? Well i did jump in there. Reading back, I handked myself nicely if i can say so myself. So why post it here instead? Well arguing with everyone became too easy, yet too much work at the same time. Also i was rèpeating myself too much to aid anyone who couldnt even grasp the argument. Also, you have the option of simply ignoring this. Or not, anyone can argue with this here too. Yup yup yup

I rate my happiness right now ound 4.8 out of 10. I'm usually a solid 6. Something is going on.

You and I are governed differently. Norwegians were still the happiest in 2020 for whatever reason.

Is hapoiness a delusion. I dont think so. Are we biased when we look back in retrospect and are thus flawed when comparing then to now. Do we simply become ever so slightly more miserable as we age?

Drinking alone ain't what it used to be. I do see the irony in that statement. Nothing amuses me anymore almost. But everyone i know is doing worse than what they were.

I've talked to enough people. Everybody in reality, is hurting. Some Ã*re better than others at hiding it. Kids are happy.

I posted my keto intro above. Then this popped into my feed. This video is 3 weeks old.
Nutritional science is an obomination. But are we starting to see dry land?. There are those ahead of the pack as were interested.I can say though, i did read some persuasive arguments defending Ancel Keyes. Look at the the transfats debacle though. Look athow two years ago the americanheart association stated that actually dietary cholestherol is not associated with a higher risk of heart disease.
