The initial viral load theory has been about since the beginning but they're not really sure.

There's another possibility that I haven't seen addressed which is to do with comorbidity. We hear a lot about comorbidities such as diabetes, obesity etc but not so much about simply catching something else at the same time. But if catching something else at the same time makes covid far more dangerous (which seems highly plausible) then we would expect cruise ships, wedding etc type situation to be far more dangerous because they're also where we're very exposed to every other disease that's doing the rounds.

Going to weddings and on cruise ships are generally the things most associated with a death wish.

In a strange twist, one showing that even I am not a perfect judge of character, my son asked me for relationship advice yesterday. My qualifications are not exactly glowing* in this domain.

I had believed that he was pretty intelligent, at least as far as is possible for a ginger, prior to this.

He has, at least, began to drink a more acceptable amount of alcohol, so there is that.

I can imagine ever going on a cruise unless sentenced by a judge. It's just sounds like hell with the best thing ever said for it by far is that the boat is so big it's like being in a shopping mall.

Harder to avoid the occasional wedding but loath them or ignore them, you can't like them.

“It's the story of my life. You see, the quality of any advice anybody has to offer has to be judged against the quality of life they actually lead. Now, as you look through this document you'll see that I've underlined all the major decisions I ever made to make the stand out. They're all indexed and cross-referenced. See? All I can suggest is that if you take decisions that are exactly opposite to the sort of decisions that I've taken, then maybe you won't finish up at the end of your life" --she paused, and filled her lungs for a good should--"in a smelly old cave like this!”

That would be a neat trick.

As you would, I hope, expect, I have not left him entirely uneducated.

You are completing a Government survey about how difficult it was to use their website. It was easy, but how do you decide between the options:
[ ] very easy
[ ] easy?

Nothing is “very easy”, especially if asked by government officials in a survey. Your response should be “ lacking in sufficient obfuscation; thus, relatively easy. “

Bowmore 12-year old is very good especially considering the price. Perfect balance in smokiness, peaty and other flavors, with a well rounded finish.

My strategy for living is to gobble up the days as fast as they come, but no faster.

The correct option is to close the page without answering.

So the statistical information is really saying there's a high variance probability distribution for the true death rate (for this demographic) around 0.37%. a
If you took any figure around 0.3% and the known variable of 80k dead in America at the time, you'd have came out at about the 24 million cases mark. Most now recovered.

There was 1.2 million confirmed cases at the time I recall clearly. Now if you take the amount of tests done - is the 20 million plus cases reasonable when you cross check the data provided by and on other countries?

This is why it's argued to never use the word very ever.

With most confirmed cases being ones requiring hospitalization that would be about 5% requiring hospitalization. I wonder what the death rate would be without the benefits of modern hospital care. Hospital is no fun either.

5% of what now? I'm not sure what you're saying. Most of the confirmed cases don't require a hospital visit. At least not here.

I see what you're saying. But most confirmed cases didn't require hospitalization surely.

Well duck me right in the ass. I booked time off work to be in Amsterdam among a crowd of 25000 people. The single most thing that would have set me mentally square for the year. It's all cancelled based on absolute bullshit politics. And bullshit politics only. Sure, I was led to believe also that a second black death was upon us but that little bit more information was all I needed to know, society is absolutely ******ed, with regards to how we are behaving.
