At least the Irish broke away from the UK, so I'd give them a ring higher and a whole ladder section over the French.

Sent from under the ladder

Scots-Irish. I think we are called Ulster Scots in the UK.

We can be seen here in our natural habitat:

I said "Russell Brand" instead of "Bertrand Russell" in a conversation about philosophy with my brother today. I could not save my credibility even from the ebb of his laughter.

I think the name "infinitesimal" should be changed to "scintilla".

The prejudice that the poor are more criminal than the rich is pissing me off.

Half of these people who are on point about gays or blacks or Muslims or transgenders or whatever don't know what their prejudices really are.

Some people are there to serve us, right? For minimum wage, if they're lucky. WTF?

Can the poor still afford a daily pint of bitters?

And what pub are you posting all this moralistic gibberish from anyway, Lastcard?

A new recommendation from me is the Old Coffee House in Beak street. A fine place for such high quality moralising.

Also The Red Lion in Leytonstone if you have to go that way

Euston Tap has been on fire recently

That would be enough bitters to make 300 gallons of old fashioneds. Seems a bit excessive for the poor, if you ask me

The remedy to that is to be kind to them to treat them friendly, like you care for what is going on and to tip 20-25% knowing full well that they may be financing some bigger dream that way and this is step 1. It also helps if you have worked like that even for 1 month in your life hehe. No shame in any job that actually does something for society and its people instead of leeching on them or exploiting their weakness or conflicts like so many "good jobs" do.

Look at the sad truth of this world and why scientific society wants to change that forever.

https://publications.credit-suisse.c...32EC9100FF5C83

68.7% of people have less than $10000 (net worth probably not at all the cash available just all possessions and land, assets etc) (you know that this easily means 50% is less than 2k right?) . This 69% has only 3% of total wealth.

22.9% $10k-100k.

7.7% $100k-1mil

0.7% >1 mil (41% of total wealth 32 mil people) (this is criminal to exist without at least the sole guilt that they should finance healthcare, food and education for the 69% or at least the creation of jobs that provide them as a reasonable long term plan to retain their wealth and not face a collapse of the system)

(those are adults above and the funny thing is that the rest ie 2.3 bil are children and teens)

The opportunity loss in that 69% must be horrific. A proper minimum investment by the top 8% who controls 83% of the wealth (we are in that too probably most of us) of only 10% of their wealth into infrastructure, education and opportunity in that group would yield a triple in quality of life standards for the 69% and probably grow overall wealth for all because this is not a zero sum game if it works properly.

This pyramid's severely insane imbalance (given that the bottom 90% essentially work for the others and not themselves - a fundamental failure of any society to have the vast majority work just to survive day to day or worse) contributes to overpopulation and climate change. You better believe it that a better more balanced system would have less population growth, less stupid religious extremism, war, ethnic divisions, tribalism and more sustainable future.

I went in there once. IIRC there were some David Beckham letters on the wall, written when he was an apprentice at Man Utd. The landlord must've been related or something. Is that why you like it?

Today’s prejudice includes blocking the school house door for a kindergartner because of his awesome dreads.

See link below:

old-coffee-house

On the sidebar in the above link is this: (Which explains why Chez likes the place)

Atmosphere: Service can be a little grumpy

What to drink: Brodie’s

Food: Inexpensive pub classics

Also they brag about having better craft beers than the usual Soho swill.

They need their opiate. Shouldn't begrudge them that, if you ask me.

The prejudice that if the poor suddenly become rich, that then they would be less criminal than the rich are now is pissing me off.

Service was very good imo and I was there during the world cup when it was heaving. Some might not like the service because they don't say '**** off and die' (bizarrely pronounced 'have a nice day' in 'merican) but I found it appreciative of people who appreciate good beer.

Also they do Scampi fries which are like small crunchy brillo pads that taste vaguely of fish & lemon - legendary snack after 5 pints or so in my circles.

Only big criticism is that the black ipa never seemed to be on.
