Isaac Asimov on the relativity of wrong.

Thats something, and a nice point to digest. Being relatively wrong -to ponder- Doesn't seem to me, to trip up people - (people)without some sort of agenda, underlying psychological bias, etc... competitive streak... I know "etc" means I am done but I added an extra for flavour (even thou it was encompassed... flavour).

For your average Joe. Someone intent on broadening ones horizons, doing so by commendable means (argument). Being relatively wrong is not the real threat. Missing datum is not the threat. The threat is missing the point. Being aligned on the target so to speak, or failing to follow where the target moves.... Anyone have an opinion on such, or have I moved this target to an un-interesting, un-utilizable location...

Confession, I didn't have a fresh read of the article I posted, so perhaps my point was made by umbrella... Ill move though it slowly in the futuree hopefully.

Edit: especially if I get berated.

double edit: If only smp did berating more.. (break some balls dudes) or no, I dunno..

The threat is nukes. Physics has those, so what it says goes.

Nukes are like hand grenades and machine guns. You don't have to be precisely on target, just not too wrong. You don't have to be on point to be on point.

The Skeptical Inquirer magazine is worth reading.

It may be that too much knowledge may be fatal. And if so, you're so right you're wrong. And those words have no scientific meaning. And you end up with ethics. Which is a whole other bag of hammers. I'm reminded of the conversation between Sam Harris and Jordan Peterson arguing over the word truth for way too long. It was entertaining.

If truth is beauty and beauty is truth then what's a ham sandwich?

I just want to say that being right is usually very difficult but being more wrong is usually easy.

And drinking four pints is easier than just drinking two. Someday, I hope, we can test my hypothesis out in London with the usual suspects. Cheers.

"But if you think that thinking the earth is spherical is just as wrong as thinking the earth is flat, then your view is wronger than both of them put together."

Could it have been started and stopped here though?

I finished.. unfortunately, I have this condition where if I can't sum It up to myself in a short quip I can't relay it in one either.

Legwork wise? I feel if the facts are laid out, the one in keeping with reality hold many benefits/stance wise.

He was beating a dead horse through most of it.

Not sure if it was excessive, since there are entire courses on the history and methods and philosophy of science that ought be summed up in a quip.

Ok lets renormalize this. In a charming way beauty deserves this. Strange as this may sound, the bottom line is that the upside tops the downside when it comes to meat sandwiches. However it remains strange to mix strong interacting flavors with weak ones without insisting on a paradigm change of the six degrees of separation.
