Something to be said about a calm demeanour that lends itself to the longevity of a tune.
Then again that seems to be a common style of older songs, hence the songs I've heard that had that trait tended to be older hence longevity.. insert bias?
this ones aggressive perhaps in the future someone will think aggressive songs have hung on for that reason.

I like to play random tunes often but I made a pixies cd for a friend that did a lot of the driving inner youth and that was a certain time one of my song requests legitimately stuck...Hey was the song of the day and that went months... Think smp is credited on that one..
