Why is modern art so crappy?

1. It attracts all the talentless hacks; if you lack classical skills but want to express yourself, you're left with modern art
2. Because it lacks creativity and skill, and because they can't compete with other (talented) forms on talent and skill and creative expression, painters can only get noticed by being shocking - sexual, disturbing, political, crass.
