Zion will get way more stocks than Larry Lol Johnson.

He's more believable as an elite NFL TE than any kind of NBA anything.

That bully basketball only going to get you so far. Not saying Zion isn't a great player in the league he's currently in but he's no slam dunk pro.

Embrace debate?

What is this First Take or something?

Are you Stephen A. Smith?

Not too proud to say I was wrong about Zion. Guy will be the best player in the league in 5 years. Barrett basically lost the game for Duke today. Zion did not touche the ball in the last minute.

Fully on the Zion train.

Yup

I’ve never seen a chucking display like I did last night. Barrett is unreal pathetic. The last minute of the duke game was really something to behold. Never seen someone blow a game 5x in the final minute

Maybe he wasn’t pathetic and was actually throwing the game?

Ok I guess that’s pathetic too. Zion WilliamsonZion Williamson

Gonzaga w/o their best player.

Barrett is probably going to be > Jason Taytum

Zion will be > Barrett

Barrett is shorter, not as long, about the same level athlete, don't have the offensive game Tatum has nor the shooting, what makes you think he's going to be better than Tatum? I'm going to keep saying it, Barrett is a bigger Markelle Fultz. Fultz in college was a guy who was scoring by being bigger & more athletic than the other college players but had no elite offensive skills, nothing, ziltch. Fultz wasn't an elite ball handler, playmaker, shooter i mean just nothing, Barret game screams "i'm going to struggle in the NBA." Zion is similar to RJ in that regard, except, he's the second coming of Jesus with regards to his size and athletic ability.

Upside is Barkley-like, where shooting isn't so vital. Just saying. But that is asking a lot. Sticking with LJ ... even on the longevity factor. Never know, could be more Dawkins-like. Voting way against any all-time great type rankings in top 100 or anything.

A fair assessment Upside is Barkley-like with less rebounds and considerably more rim protection.

Well I realize he probably won't average 12 rebounds a game over 15 years like Barkley, but if he committed himself to it I don't see why he couldn't. Obscene width and hops dwarfs Barkley. Up pace game today man he could hoard some boards. Big thing imo is we don't know his mind yet.

Why are we capping his upside? What was Barkley's comp for upside? Jordan's? Curry's? I've run the simulations and his true upside is a transformative ~35 PER player with 30/20/10/3/3 type splits and a significant defensive BPM.

If it's a capped buffet then it makes sense, otherwise it's just unlimited unrealized potential. According to my simulations I was finding splits somewhere in the neighborhood of 30/21/12/4/4 servings and a significant exit to launch ratio.

People ITT seem to be undervaluing Barkley’s athleticism. Their verticals are very similar, but Charles was maybe two inches shorter.

RJ Barrett is elite at rim finishing and drawing fouls. His game is Derozan like on offense with upside.

he's not been that good at either so far - small sample ofc. looks good when he can wind up for a dunk but throws up some awkward bull**** as well

It's capped because humans are flawed have to anchor their thinking to something tangible.

Interesting that Zion has such cramping problems. Remember when Bron in the playoffs at San Anton was so affected by the heat game? He couldn't finish if I remember right. No one else was so affected. The big muscle bod I guess, he and Zion. But really teenage dude needs intravenous fluids after hooping??? No one else did.
