Clearly he’s an overwhelming favorite to have an unparalleled Tiger Woods-level peak, but won’t have the longevity due to his knee ligaments simply disintegrating under his (then) 360 pound totally chiseled frame. Thus the debate will rage on for centuries as to who the true GOAT is: MJ, Zion, or Lonzo Ball. Oh and Howard will be chiming in to extol the virtues of old time big men like Wilt, Walton, Mikan, and Shawn Bradley.

LOL, nice one. Wilt is the GOAT and Walton could compete in the modern NBA. Mikan and Bradley are nowhere close.

Must have been a heck of a comeback to see. I hope they cut down the nets as I took them at 6/1 the night they wiped the floor with Kentucky. Checking now looks about 2/1.

I can't go with Zion having Tiger Woods type career, or even peak. As in no NBA MVPs. You have to reset the bar to be Tiger-esque. Best player in the league by far. Don't see it.

I think he's gonna be more like Bo Jackson in the NFL. Scary skillz ... but that's different than realizing best ever type status. I wouldn't even bet him to be in the top 100 or even 200 of all-time NBA-ers. Hope he does but not feeling it. Again, so many things can go wrong. It's far from automatic.

Meanwhile he's still shooting around 75% from 2 for the year, and around 80% in conference, while averaging well over 20. Almost unheard of. I think it is unheard of. EVER.

Definitely the best college player since Anthony Davis.

Zion has a 29/30 or 96.6% chance of being goat. His only hurdle is the Knicks drafting him.

So basically the same as his odds of making a 2pt FG.

I really don't think LeBron would have shot a similar percentage in one year of college ball.

Just by looking at LeBron's HS stats you can see he would be drawing dead to match that shooting %.

I think Z’s FG percentage overall is 68 per cent, which is about 30 per cent on 3s and 75 per cent of 2s.

AD averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds at UK. Okay, 5 blocks. His most FG attempts ever in college was 13, that in his first game. A similar thing could happen with Zion in pros. He's not a player that has the ball a lot. On that basis alone you can scratch the GOAT candidate stuff. Jordan, LeBron, Oscar, Chamberlain, Bird, Magic, Kareem, now Harden and Westbrook, Curry, Durant ... everything was going thru them. It's a big difference and it matters in upside. He's more likely to be like Draymond or even Grant Hill than LeBron.

You do realize that Grant Hill would've probably been H.O.F if it wasn't for injuries, right?

Yeah Davis had 5 blocks a game...but the number of shots he altered a game was through the roof.

Of course. And why the hell would you say probably. But that's just one of the many things that can keep a superlative athlete from challenging or even remotely approaching GOAT status.

think you took the "even" backwards of how it was intended. He obviously was going to be an All-Star for 10 or 12 straight years right out of the gate if not injured, and that's no-brainer HOF. In my book he's more a star than Draymond at his peak, Hill is. But I'll say, don't think Zion will match Hill's first 5 or 6 seasons. Over/under on Zion averaging 25 in a full NBA season is one time, in my book.

Bill Walton against Memphis State in ‘73: 21 of 22 from the floor. One of the greatest individual college performances ever.
