So I'm biased as a Giants fan, but obviously also recognize this game was crazy good at the end. In fact, I find it pretty amazing how similar the games played out in terms of not being great games through 3 quarters, but becoming epic in the final 10-12 minutes.

Both with some crazy sick catches also: Tyree last year, and some great Holmes and Fitz catches this year.

It's also close because this game had the amazing 100 yard return, but also has the drawback of the cluster**** refereeing. (Hard to watch a game with a flag on every play).

So.... 42 or 43?

It will be tough to tell what is more biased, me saying 42 because I'm a Giants fan, or the fact that the recency bias will give 43 more votes than it would in 6 months.

I voted this one.

Recency bias for sure.

as a semi-Pats fan, this was a lot less stressful and just way more awesome. Even with the rather dreadful 3rd Q, I don't think SB 42 could match the excitement of the 2 final scoring plays of this one. The final Pats drive was just pretty methodical, whereas ARI's score was just Fitz going crazy.

The first half of last year was so boring.

Good point on the recency factor. Wonder how many % points that counts for.

I think XLII is better because of the Giants Pats storyline. The whole game was so tense because I kept excepting the Pats to run it up and win, but it never happened. I had watched tons of Pats games that year and saw them steamroll everyone and to see them finally stopped made for a great cap to this season. 43 was an awesome game, but the referring ruined the game for me and I would rather rewatch the NFC championship game than the SB.

first half this year was pretty boring as well. Second half in both games was pretty outrageous.

18-1 has to play a factor in this, the storyline throughout the game was much more tense and interesting.

If I try to ignore the non-review at the end then 43 was much better. The refs got in the way a few times but it was such intense drama, so many plays are forever in my mind now. I can only say that about one play last year.

i mean, yeah, but at the same time, it was the frickin CARDINALS one of the all time worst franchises about to pull off a major upset

I really think the refs take away from 43 a bit. Not saying "omg it was rigged" but 42 felt more perfect and there were no questions. The game felt right. I feel like a lot of the discussion regarding 43 will have to do with the officiating and the non-review at the end, which takes away from its greatness.

As a straight up game I think 43 was better, but I'm going to remember 42 more fondly.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think this is close to as big as the greatest team of all time going for a perfect season.

42 was a closer game throughout as well, with the same amount of lead changes (more?) in the fourth quarter.

Again, I'm clearly biased obviously. There will be a huge recency bias as in this poll as well though.

I voted XLIII. No recency bias; more of a ****-the-Giants bias.

last year and its not close.
Last year's matchup was 10x more interesting.

18-0, the Giants coming out of no where...Eli turning out to be good.
The ending of the game...the catch.

The historic team that was supposed to win lost...the huge underdog pulls of an amazing win.

This game was awesome at the end but the shocker was the Cards coming back on the Steelers D. Steelers were supposed to win this game and they did. The fact that the Cards didn't collapse(completely) like they normally would at the end of the game, and their near comeback, was what made it a great game.

I took much greater pleasure in watching the Pats' potential perfect season get cracked. Also, the commercials were better a year ago. I'm also not a Boss fan.

XLII but only because of storylines. lol @ first half of a game where the most potent offense in NFL history is playing being boring.

42 and i dont think its particularly close

greatest team evar looking to go 18-0, already beat the giants week 17 to cement perfect regular season. destroying teams left and right and the underdogs who finished the regular season 1-3 and suddenly won 3 straight games on the road to make it.

pats take the lead on epic drive

giants get the ball back, convert 4th and 1, crazy tyree play, 3rd and 11 to steve smith who gets out of bounds and the burress jukes the **** outta hobbs to give them the lead w/ 35 sec left

brady almost hits moss to put them into FG range after getting piledrived the play before

throw in plax's prediction of the pats scoring 17 and brady laughing at him

I thought the refereeing was fine. I didn't see one penalty called that I thought was a bad penalty. It's not the refs fault each team had a bunch of bonehead mistakes.

Not really sure which one was "better." I enjoyed this game immensely however.
