Maybe xfl will put a little bit of pressure on nfl to streamline rules and speed up games. The pitch in just watched was decent.

I mean the timing was right to try to start up a football league if

1. You weren't going to go in direct timing competition against the NFL

2. You were basing it around a core of Kaep, Tebow, Manziel, and RG3. But Manziel seemed crucial to that.

Date isn't set yet, they said late Jan/early Feb. Could be what you said or week after super bowl or hell saturday night before--not like a bunch of nerds here wouldn't watch the opener at least. That said, a) if they're playing outdoors it snows around that time of year and you don't want a snowy cold opening game and b) I'm not sure you want people's memory of football games going straight from super bowl to XFL that week or vice versa.

If this had any chance to work then I think the season has to be from June to August when nothing else is going on but Baseball, right?

Granted some player probably dies in the Arizona heat but I think that is the time of year that this does best. Atleast I know that is when I would consider watching. Any other time of year I doubt it.

Vince is 72 with at least a couple terrible injuries and probably used steroids for decades. It’s like a 25 percent chance he isn’t even alive in two years. No idea why he’d want to try this crap again when it looked like he was transitioning to just straight up retiring for a few years now.
