Correct, you choose 8 players, no limitations. You can choose 8 players from the same team and you can choose 8 that play in the same position.

I think longevity in the thournament was the biggest factor.

Yeah, sort of glad I didn't have to make a choice there, figured that would be the top3 and I'd take the one who was left by my turn. And actually figured it would most likely be him. Now just have to hope his teammates don't fail him at all times.
