The flat part is known as the knoll. The first thing you get is your knees in your mouth, if that's all you get you are damn lucky. In ski jumping as soon as skiers are getting close to the knoll they are moved higher up the in run to gain more speed. Of course that's not available in slope style so those girls were just asked to randomly jump out of 3rd story building. As soon as one or two girls weren't clearing the knolls the event should have been stopped. It was a reckless disregard for safety.
