It's more like the forum has been populated by a large portion of spineless posters that are afraid of conflict or standing out. They are more inclined to play things safe and craft their responses to he the approval of others. This waters down the forum as posters just blend into each other.
Meanwhile, creativity is quashed.
A good example of this is Tuq. If this forum wasn't so infected, they would realize Tuq is the franchise and would keep him front and center. Tuq is a once-in-a generation talent that has all the tools: not only is he funny; he is smart, has real life experience, and he constantly keeps overlooked posters and opinions in play. He also tore more new buttholes than a proctologist with Parkinson's - or John Holmes during his "I'll do anything for drug money days."
But, the forum has devolved into a group of critics that offer no substantive content and are scared to consider ideas not connected to metrics. Boring. I have no idea how a forum of "+1" posts can be considered interesting or exciting. This place has more eunuchs than the Heavens Gate compound.
Anyhow, you all haven't ruined Tuq, but you are wasting him. Shame on you.
Clark is another example. He was dynamic and bold (like Dr. Pepper 10 claims to be). He stood for something. He put passion in his work - so much so that his glasses would fog up from time to time.
Anyhow, he's been relegated to the corner - he sits there like a potted plant with nothing interesting to offer. You guys did that to him and you should hang your heads in shame. I'd rather take a 100-floor elevator ride with MicroBob than read any of Clark's recent posts. Greatness has been destroyed; there is blood on your hands.
