Round #3, Pick #whatever


I might be missing the boat a little here, think some people consider him to be one of those net positive type bad p0sters (and I agree sometimes he's alright or good), but there's also an awful lot of bad to go around. But for this pick I'm gonna go with:


Let's even ignore where he does the bulk of his work (the EPL threads as a Manchester City supporter) and go straight to the meat of it, the Scottish Football containment thread. And let's call it what it is, a martymclol containment thread. See back in the day people used to discuss the Scottish League in the EPL thread because hey why not, a lot of people follow both, no big deal and all that. Well, it got to be too much after a while, and a thread was needed to contain marty's SPL AIDS.

Ok, maybe this isn't exactly how it went down (I don't even remember for sure, seems that way though), but it would have at some point if it didn't happen organically. Anyway, who cares about that really.


The thread is mostly just him talking to himself. Oh, and for context about the SPL, his team is basically the Yankees of the league, their main rival, recently destroyed (long story), are like the Red Sox. Ya know, if they also had a Catholic/Protestant blood-feud going on and they played in the same city. Also, every other team in the league are basically the KC Royals (minus hope for the future). And currently the Red Sox rival team have been cast down to the equivalent of single-A or something.

The thread is mostly just martymclol acting his team are the victim of something or other, bragging about beating down their pathetic competition, and defending this guy for whatever reason:


Lots of people seem to hate this guy, whereas marty wants to have his babies. Anyway, that's the context, here's the meat:

I could go on for days like this, but you get the idea. It goes on like that for quite a while, that's his work from like 10% of the SPL thread only. He basically IS what is probably the worst thread in SE.

His EPL work is marginally better because I think he actually talks about soccer a lot more, rather than fighting the Scottish Civil War over the internet. But even then, his posting/analysis, etc isn't really worth reading. So even when he's "good", it's bad.

I'm taking people who are not banned. I feel like there's value in that. The ridiculously bad get perma'ed and thus their story continues. All three of my posters are bad on a large scale and will never get perma'ed most likely.

If you dropped cinch/odell/others right back into the forum with a clean slate, they'd get banned again. This is about LEGACY.

If anyone can clarify what was meant by the RacersEdge post about USC and jail, I'd love to hear it.

My best theory is he was actually saying no one at Penn State deserved to go to jail, and since none had yet gone to jail (and because he was predicting that no one would, including the deceased Joe Paterno) that the same punishment was appropriate or something?

marty seems like an awful pick

i don't read soccer threads but based on the volume and content of reported posts from those threads i'm pretty sure a whole lot of soccer posters would make excellent bad poster picks in a vacuum (obv they don't work so well in the actual draft where most of the people participating and reading aren't familiar with soccer only posters).

I'm going to start dropping direct hints about older posters if this **** keeps up

Vlugge is the worst SE soccer poster of all times. That is not my opinion, it is objective fact. He (like myself) turned up during the world cup and (like myself) spent the vast majority of his early posts trolling American soccer fans. He should be a top 3 poster OAT with that sort of MO. Instead, AIDS. This is a monkey-bashing-away-at-keyboard type of bad poster, nonsensical, unfunny, bad, awful.

The quoted sequence above was his demise. Or was it? No, he came back with Lasagne.
