Made so much worse by the fact that he wasn't a mean guy and didn't really flare up much so it was hard to get really RUSTLED by him. There is something highly dangerous about being both somewhat amicable and really militantly stupid and ignorant. He mastered it. Until he got perma'd.

RedBean has turned the argument into whether the prosecution has a good case, or is ESPN a smear vehicle, or was what Bonds took expressly illegal in the MLB. All of those are minor, small issues.

The big issue is Bonds failed at life and will always be a joke to any real man with character. The guy, that knows everything he puts into his body down to gram or ounce, knowingly put a substance into his body that the baseball fan population would hate him for doing if they knew it. It wasn't after-the-fact hatred. It was before-the-fact. He knowingly cheated the fans. When the fans found out, they hated him. This is not a surprise. To act like it's some major injustice against Bonds is laughable. He went for the big gains knowing the big risk. He pursued his own anti-social vanity and hurt thousands of others. The crime is against all the other baseball players that bowed to the unwritten rules of the fans that pay the money that ends up in the contracts. How much spotlight did Bonds steal from these other stars? How much money did Bonds steal from them?

Of course, I have to listen to the childish defense about what is or is not expressly written in the rules and violations of 'unwritten rules'. Guess what? That's life. That's how the world goes around. It's impossible to codify every rule. It would be foolhardy to attempt to do so. Society gets by through many unspoken norms. Those that violate big ones are treated like pariahs. Bonds knowingly violated a big one and has been remorseless about it. Sorry, you claim to be the greatest of all-time and make millions of dollars. When the foundation for that is in error, it's a big violation.

In the end, Bonds is a small human being that was jealous of the unearned accolades of guys like McGwire and Sosa. Instead of being a man about things and trying to get the sport to clean itself up, he decided to also go the cowardly track and hope to just be better at trying to pull the ruse on the public.

Since RedBean seems to devote an awful large percentage of his life to defending such a person, I think he actually loses at this thread more than any other poster. Lots of horrible people have done things that were legal within the codified rules of the environment they were in, but are horrible, horrible people in the big picture. To devote so much of one's time to defend a failure of a human being as OK because their actions were allowed within codified rules is picking the wrong battle. How many dictators have legally imprisoned dissidents? That would be OK in RedBean's book as they didn't break the codified rules of their environment. However, we all know such people failed at life. The same is true, to a much less extreme extent obviously, with Barry Bonds.

*the defense that others were doing it is, also, ridiculous. Call out those other players as well and make fun of them. Don't excuse one guy because others are doing it. If 25% of the guys you are around beat their wife, it doesn't excuse you to beat your wife. Of course he ends up the poster chiled because he had the most on-the-field results. That's how most movements against *******s goes. The movements don't go for everyone involved, but they pick out the largest examples to make their case and move society forward.

With our second pick in the bad p0sters draft, we select the hilariously-aptly named and resident hugest Steelers homer (who does not live in Pittsburgh) on the forum, agdci981. With this pick, we also LOLSTEELERS by selecting the first of (probably) many LOLSTEELERS fans.¹

agdci did work, in volume, until his official retirement from SE, which he announced in a retirement thread that reveals his expectation that he would be missed. Sadly, that thread was locked after the 10th post, every post before it having mocked him.

This was something of a trend for AIDCI. He started 12 threads, 4 of them being locked within 21 posts, for a stunning 33% lock rate. More impressively, the sum of all posts contained in his 12 threads is 324 posts. This is best considered in the following context: one of them was the official 2011 NFL Draft day 3 liveposting thread, which garnered 250 of those posts. Thus, of the 11 threads he attempted to start in SE that did not suck up posts because they were the only reasonable place to post about something happening in real time, he averaged a cool 6.73 posts per thread.
