The Birmingham HUB is just killing the USFL. The XFL, even though it was an objectively subpar football product, had niche fan support in nearly every location because it leaned into the sillyness of it. The St. Louis Battlehawks and Seattle Dragons probably being the two best examples, but goofy **** was happening everywhere (The beer snake...).

No one gives a **** about mediocre football with players they've never heard of. Give them something to enjoy.

Why don't they just make the tickets free so the stadium doesn't look empty? Brings too much riff raff in the stadium and basically becomes like a mall hangout?

The gate can't be much more than like 10 grand anyway

I wouldn’t go to these **** games for free.

They should give out free tickets and alcohol and then charge $10 for the restrooms

Michael David Smith @MichaelDavSmith

Jeff Fisher just had a fourth-and-3 at the opponent's 43-yard line, took an intentional delay of game to give his punter more room, and then the punt was blocked.

refreshing to know that if jeff fisher coaches a football game in a forest with no one around everything still goes down exactly as you assume

did they change the rules or something? the totals for these games are 10-12pts higher than they were earlier in the year and these offenses seem atleast semicompetent today besides all of Sloter turnovers

The USFL is greater than the XFL.

Which league has better players? Xfl or the usfl? Feel like I recognize more xfl players. Not saying they are better though. Feel like the two leagues should just merge into one league

Pretty save to say there's going to be max one Spring league next year.

Not sure why the XFL is failing though. IMO the put on a pretty entertaining product and attendance seems to be good too. But TV ratings are probably >50% below what they had expected.

Let's see how the USFL does the next couple of weeks.

Are you saying the XFL is moving to the Fall to compete directly with the NFL ???

Let's see how the USFL does the next couple of weeks.

I remember going to a party on Sunday last year and one of the TVs randomly had the USFL on and my first thought was "this **** is still going? Who watches this?"

At least the XFL has some following and personality where the USFL is literally the most generic thing ever and has no visibility to the general public.

Maybe these spring leagues will just show that more football is actually worse. I'd love for the NFL to get rid of TNF and even MNF. It just gives that much more anticipation to an NFL Sunday and fewer games means each game means more.

Same reason I watch 5-10 minutes of preseason NFL. Once the novelty of "football is on" wears away you are left with an awful product that means absolutely nothing. The USFL is this except there isn't a novelty of football being on since the NFL ended 2 months ago.

At least the XFL starts immediately so anyone still craving football can have it, but I have no idea in the world why the USFL thinks it's a good idea to start the season right when NBA and NHL playoffs start and even baseball just beginning. A summer league from June to August just seems a million times better.

I guess not enough people watch TV during the day on weekends in the summer.

No idea why scheduling is how it is between XFL and USFL but we'll have a clear indicator once the XFL season ends and we can compare the first weeks of XFL to the last weeks of USFL. Last weekend was pretty much a wash ratings-wise. USFL won the total viewership category but they benefit from their superior TV partners and the fact that one XFL game was on ESPN2 where only 200k turned in.
