Is it correct to say that we should post in here for today's game, and not the football friendlies thread?

Turkey is on a hot streak. Turkey has five straight wins. Lot of US questions for this Turkey match. Will Clint Dempsey show up in a wheelchair? Will Jozy get any shots on goal? Will we continue with that risky diamond death formation? Will Green play at all? Can we avoid a brutal 0-2 loss here? Can we eke out a tie? A loss here virtually knocks us out of the WC.

This.

It's a friendly. That legendary USA WIM will not be as big of an element as it will be in the WC. The result is meaningless.

If you guys think that a loss to Turkey using our first string lineup on our home soil is no big deal, you are pollyannas (fanboys deluxe). How are we then supposed to be able to beat a better Ghana team in a foreign country, let alone handle Potugal or Germany?

Beasley dropped. Lineup otherwise as expected. I dislike Beasley and Davis enough as it is and I think JK realized having them together on the same side of the field simply was not going to work.

I suspect Davis will prove he's not at this level in a more extended shift today. Playing vs a team that we aren't going to be getting constant set pieces in the third like we were against Azerbaijan.

I do hope that with Davis starting that we go ahead and just give Bedoya the game off, or perhaps sub him on for Zusi and allow Green to come in for Davis. This is the time to put Green on the field for 30+ minutes and give him another go.

About 10 minutes away from the stadium to see USA #1 live and in person. Pretty good energy on the train there so I'm expecting good things for the stadium. Plz play Julian for me.

Seems like Chandler on the left and Fabian on the right, which is bizarre. Davis starting with this strong of a lineup is kind of a no-win proposition; he shouldn't start in Brazil no matter how good he looks, and we could use this game to evaluate more important things. Other than that, though: good to see Dempsey back, and we should at least get a chance to assess the diamond vs. real opposition (not high on it myself).

If Green has hope of playing any role, he needs to get 30 tonight. Would be anticlimactic for him not to even get a serious chance after making the squad.

You have two right backs.

One needs to play LB.

One has played LB extensively and proved to be effective there, having even played LM and been great.

The other has very limited experience lining up on the wrong side and when he has, it hasn't been great.

Which player should play LB?

Jurgen and his god damn diamond lol

Would have loved to have seen MIX out there honestly. Jones can suck it imo. And no more JOZY. Free ARON.

Agree, and to not to take him and not even seriously consider using him just makes the Landy decision much worse.
