you didn't say mediocre in the WC field, you said VERY MEDIOCRE IN COMPARISON TO USA/GHANA. from the looks of the odds being posted, it looks like all 6 teams are pretty much considered to be in the same tier (drawing dead to make an impact in the world cup), meaning your post or whoever posted that WRONG.

I don't know where those odds are from but everywhere has USA longer than 100/1 and you can get 250/1. Ivory Coast and Croatia generally a little bit shorter, but not much in it.

Going by longest odds USA/Ghana is 250-1.

Croatia - 208
Japan - 246
Greece - 450
Ivory Coast -150

Average - 263

Very mediocre seems about right.

how much does it hurt you to see betting sites give a Mexico team, who was 2 minutes from elimination, get better odds than the the team that finished in 1st place in hexagonal?

I've only bet on 2+2 once (not counting fantasy leagues) so do you want to have someone escrow our money?

Sounds good. Booked. Do you want to post it in the soccer betting thread?

BTW, I am from USA#1 so paypal is probably our only option. Let me know if that is cool, how to avoid fees on paypal, & who pays fees.

Pure goalscoring is great, but playing 11v10 the whole match isn't worth the marginal upgrade in penalty box instinct. It's why Jermain Defoe is an MLS player, it's why Darren Bent can't get off the bench, it's why Javier Hernandez won't and can't be a starter at United.

Mexico are sure to go far now, as they have a special motivational weapon. At least El Tri can tweet about their blue balls.

tough if you don't like it.

Also it is smart that you lot only post your nonsense itt because when it gets brought to the general population during the tournament I won't be the only one lol'ing at this crap.

mickey you are not to be taken seriously if you still believe the toughest group is G.

and stop with the goal post shifts like croatia are not in 50% of peoples picks. Has **** all to do with anything.
You always did have a strange understanding of words and their meanings in the English language. Cool it.

Out-of-date question for people who follow MLS:

Why didn't Harrington even get a short run against weak qualifying opponents or a few friendlies at left back? Obviously it was no shock that he didn't make the 30. I don't think he has a cap, and he's best when his team is winning the possession battle, which will be far from the case in Brazil. Still, he's been good for the Timbers, especially last season, and it's not like the USMNT has a wealth of talent on that side.

I know pointing out the times you're wrong about the game is about as easy as, well, beating Mexico 2-0 in a big match, but still... none of the fans who seriously follow our National Team "backed" Bobbo when he said that, and several posted that they disagreed. Bobbo has also since posted that he was wrong about that.

Even if that weren't true though, this is pretty rich from you considering every 5 minutes you have a new "ZOMG this kid is totally the best ___________ in the world, and he's going to be the savior of our National Team and he could easily be playing for Bayern Munich or Real Madrid but they're too stupid to realize it!"

And generally whoever your current savior is is some Mexican league journeyman who no one else wants.

Nothing wrong with homering it up about your favorite players in the build up to a World Cup, but you calling people out for it is like Chicharito calling someone a benchwarmer.

What's odd is that the US is relatively longer to get out of group than it is to win it all. Maybe a lot of stupid money in play. Or, maybe a lot more money being bet in the US than in the Ivory Coast.

If you had the squad that Mexico is taking to the world cup, the chances of you making it out of the group would increase by at least 10%.
Teams like USA, Mexico, Japan, Greece are all sort of similar. No one wants to play them. Even though they have no elite players, they have enough talent and are well enough organized that they can beat anyone in the tournament. Against Greece, for example, it's going to be hard to score. Mexico suffers from its exaggerated self image. Probably no side overrates itself so much (USA included) except maybe England. USA fans are overrating Ghana, because Ghana is not as good as it was some years ago, and the USA is accustomed to losing to Ghana.

Back to Mexico - this is a mediocre team full of players who play in a third rate national league - no team has such a long record of not going far in the world cup. I can see them finishing with 1 point from a 3-3 tie against Cameroon.

Marty, I'm good w/ loser paying paypal fees. FYI- I am going to the WC and won't be back until June 30th (4 days after group G is decided) and I will probably wait to pay until I get home. Let me know if this is a problem.
