Yikes we were poor defensively/Mexico was good going forward in the second half. Gonzo was poor in the second, Besler was better.

I wasn't particularly disappointed by Green...he was clearly nervous. He's an 18 year old kid. He still showed flashes of being dangerous and willing to run at guys 1v1. Drew an obvious foul and what looked to be about 6 inches away from a penalty, along with a couple of missed easy passes and so on.

I'd like to see more, but I still think we should bring him along. The 23rd guy on the roster simply doesn't matter that much, and there's no reason not to plan for the future (as opposed to bringin someone like Wondo, who I like just fine, but what's his future for us?).

Plus it's amazing experience for an 18 year old kid. Noone ever knows how development is going to go, and he may not ever fully pan out, but if he does we get him in World Cups when he's 22, 26, and 30...and he very well could end up a critical player for us. Let's at least get him the experience.

Also, depending on how we line up, he may be a decent option to throw on late in an open game when we're trailing (which, unfortunately, is likely to be the case in our group) since he can run at guys.

Fun game overall.

Consensus on Green?

Much Adu about nothing?

He's 18 years old and played 45 minutes on his International debut, lol. How could there possibly be a meaningful consensus on anything? He'll be fine...

He certainly has some skills. He needs to add some upper body strength and some maturity to his possession and defensive game.

I have a really hard time fitting Green into my 23. Wondo wouldn't even be in it to begin with in order to replace him with Green. We definitely can't take him over EJ, that would be insane to me. If the final spot really does come down to Wondo/Herc/Boyd/Green/Agudelo/Magee, then I can potentially see picking Green, although I still personally would not.

We are pretty shallow at forward and any suspensions, injuries or Jozy being complete **** could easily bring more forwards into play. For me Wondo and Herc > JG.

I like the switched version a little better, but each one is pretty bad imo

don't know why we can't come up with one fantastic/durable kit design. I'm sure there are dumb corporate considerations and many cooks in the kitchen, but it's the kind of super easy problem where if there was even just a hokey contest or whatever then we'd instantly get five new ideas that were way better than anything in the last thirty years. Also a big thumbs down to any crest that isn't just the basic stars and stripes with maaaaybe the word USA; really hate the current one with the comet cartoon soccer ball and the refrigerator magnet letters.

mexico is pretty bad right now. We're not much better but we are definitely better. The World Cup draw is obv a huge variance carnival, but man, not only was Mexico only allowed to play in the tournament because of the unlimited generosity and patience of the United States of America, but then to draw such a garbage group, where all four teams in our group are better than every team in theirs except Brazil, well it's pretty lol. Won't matter in the end, on June 23 Modric is going bend El Tri over and penetrate her tattered honor and also her butthole again and again like she was a cheap pinata filled with contaminated water and avocado husks, but with any luck then we'll be too hungover to even lol about it after punching our ticket for ROUND TWO the night before.

Frankly, imho, Mexico is not a very good team, and our USA team barely tied them. Donovan looked winded and fat. Eddie Johnson made poor decisions. Green showed his inexperience. Barely knew Clint Dempsey was playing. Maybe he has lost it. The back line is highly suspect and will let in tons of WC goals unless something is radically done. It was good to see Wondo score nicely but better teams will not give him that type of chance, I think. Bradley did everything. Basically it was Bradley 2 Mexico 2. No wonder Klinsman's assistant jumped ship. ugh

After watching last nights game I'm going to predict we lose all 3 games this summer. Then just blame it on the bad draw. Our defense has always been our Achilles heel and if we play C.Ronaldo and Germany like that we will lose by 3+ goals in both of those games

I think we're going to beat Ghana and lose to Portugal and Germany and go out. I know I've said it before on here, and don't want to be overly negative, but Gonzo and Besler just aren't International class CBs. They're not really particularly close.

We're playing two teams with decidedly world class attacking players, and will have to run hot for that not to burn us.

It's possible of course, and I'm not giving up hope at all, I just don't think we're ultimately good enough in that position.

I don't hate this team, if we got England, Slovenia, Algeria again or something similar I would love our chances to qualify. This group is probably too much. Hell, Ghana could easily get something from us, and that would be pretty much gg as well.
