Anyone else watching this US-Guatemala U-20 game on espn3? We just fell down 1-0, winner qualifies for the world cup, loser goes home, It's a pretty intense so far, plus its broadcast in spanish which always adds to the atmosphere.

Juan Agudelo's Great Goal

From tonight's MLS game. Looks like he's been learning a thing or two from Henry.

If you want to know why Freddy isn't coming back to MLS just yet

http://insider.espn.go.com/sports/so...cer&id=6402645

A few things to bear in mind: We're focusing here exclusively on Europe, though for comparison's sake, the Galaxy's Landon Donovan made $2.05 million in salary in 2010, while young Juan Agudelo earned $40,000 in salary for the Red Bulls. And the just-transferred Benny Feilhaber's reported MLS salary of $400,000 a year will be a slight raise from his wage in Denmark. We don't have every single American salary over there, but we believe this is the best compendium yet, and we've even included prominent non-U.S. national teamers Giuseppe Rossi and Neven Subotic.

Also, when it comes to soccer salaries, nobody knows anything precisely, so treat these numbers not as pence-perfect accounts but as well-informed estimates. Still, you should know that Harris' data -- based partly on salary surveys he conducted with the U.K.'s players union -- have been presented as evidence in a British lawsuit involving player compensation and that IM Scouting's service is used by clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Everton and Bolton.

Player - Club - League - Estimated salary
Brad Friedel - Aston Villa - EPL - $3.44 million
Oguchi Onyewu - Twente - EREDIVISIE - $3.36 million
Clint Dempsey - Fulham - EPL - $3.0 million
Tim Howard - Everton - EPL - $2.6 million
Giuseppe Rossi - Villarreal - LA LIGA - $2.6 million
Jozy Altidore - Bursaspor - TURKEY - $2.2 million
Stuart Holden - Bolton - EPL - $2.15 million
Jermaine Jones - Blackburn - EPL - $1.9 million
Neven Subotic - Borussia Dortmund - BUND - $1.872 million
Jonathan Spector - West Ham - EPL - $1.7 million
Brad Guzan - Aston Villa - EPL - $1.7 million
Steve Cherundolo - Hannover - BUND - $1.583 million
Maurice Edu - Rangers - SCOT - $1.38 million
Marcus Hahnemann - Wolverhampton - EPL - $1.38 million
Michael Bradley - Aston Villa - EPL - $1.24 million
Carlos Bocanegra - Saint-Étienne - LIGUE 1 - $1.21 million
Freddy Adu - Rizespor - TURKEY - $875,000
Eddie Johnson - Preston - ENG CHAMP - $861,000
Zak Whitbread - Norwich - ENG CHAMP - $775,000

Danny Potts called up for USA U17s.

For those who didn't know, Danny's father was a cult hero for West Ham, playing for the club as a defender for over 15 years and making 500 appearances. He was solid but unspectacular and got a nosebleed whenever he crossed the half way line (probably). He scored one goal for us in his career, which I was fortunate enough to witness, where he struck a 30 yarder that bobbled along the ground, through the keeper's legs and trickled over the line.

I have no idea if his son is any good or not.

Wow, Wondolowski? Adu? Rogers? Rimando?

3 forwards, one of which is anything but a 2nd guy in a 4-4-2 (Wondo) means we're going 4-5-1/4-3-3 right?

Ummmm no Chandler on GC roster? But Freddy ****ing Adu? Timmy Chandler better be injured and not dicking around with us re: national team decision.

Either that or Bradley is a ****ing moron. But I'm leaning toward Chandler being shown some serious interest by Die Mannschaft.

I don't like this roster fwiw. Gooch still looks poor and can't get pt in the Belgian league. Ream prob too young. Boca at CB and Lichaj at LB? Probably not as Bradley likely goes with Bornstein. God I feel sick just typing that.

I'd love to see a 'dolo, Goodson, Boca, Lichaj back four just to see if they can play together. It looks like the combination that would provide the least amount of stupidity in front of Howard. Not really concerned about the opening match. If we play Mexico what does it look like?

Dolo -------- Gooch -------- Boca -------- Bornstein

------------------------ Edu --------------------------

Deuce ------------- MB --------------------- Landon

-------------------------- Agudelo -------------------
--------------------Jozy-------------------------------

I THINK that's what Bradley will throw out there. And I think we get beat 2-0 or something of the like. If we get behind with that formation we swap Spector for Edu and play 3 in the back with the wings (Dolo and Spector) charging. Having Holden and Chandler makes us far more dangerous. This group just doesn't look like it will get it done against Chicharito et al.
