I don't have a problem with it. Sure, it's probably better to say you have a slim chance than none, but I see no reason to respect him more for blatantly lying. We aren't good enough. We aren't close to good enough.

I find Twellman's idiotic position far more annoying ("Why go if you can't win"). They can represent the country well and potentially make a good run to the QF or who knows, a SF even. That would make us proud and be great for the development of football in this country. Taylor can take his Ricky Bobby **** elsewhere.

any single-elim tournament is a variance-fest. we're better than in '02 when we had legit WC equity at a stage. it's not "blatantly lying", the US is one of 10 or 15 teams with not-great-but-existent equity.
