lol, yes I know it isn't going to happen. I think Dempsey is the only questionable part of that lineup though and I think it's pretty good. Yes, EJ is def going to start. Evans is not though, he pulled out of the camp entirely as far as I know. 99% sure he is out period.

If Beasley had a 4 in this game I feel like we'd have won, but he was a 2. Didn't embarrass his country to the point that we leave him in the jungle in Costa Rica, but was the worst player on the field.
haha

Orazco was just as bad. I mean, Besler was pretty rotten, too. Our defense really was super exposed.

CRC could've pressed but they were happy to sit back up 2 10 mins in. We looked super vulnerable. Them sitting back kinda let us back in the game

forget cruizn he is just some half-witted, sideshow clown who doesn't even know what country he is in

this is about more than lolcruizn

this is about the Azteca legend being shattered to the point where they should considering just razing the god damn building to the ground

this is about a change in the pecking order in CONCACAF

its about a nation of ****heels south of our border that deserve every single spoonful of comeuppance that is being shoved into their fat gob

as a country, as a people, as a soccer playing establishment, they are an embarrassment to our continent. they've never even done anything remotely noteworthy ever in the world cup, so their spot needs to go to a country of born winners and born champions. a country with winning in our blood and in our hearts, not these ****ing losers with an inexplicable entitlement complex of epic proportions

and for that matter, mexicans consistently and obnoxiously fail to recognize the greatness of the united states of america. they tried to invade us once and that did not work out for them. now they are either waiting until the sun sets to run across the border or bravely staying behind to pee into bags. the paucity of fans at the azteca last night could mean that there are few if any mexicans remaining.

this second rate country has one sport that they care about, and we are taking it over and knocking them the **** out. we're going to beat their asses down on tuesday. Mexico should be shown no quarter, not now, not ever. We should grind them into fine dust until they are begging us to go back to when we didn't play soccer competitively.

EVERYBODY WITHIN DRIVING DISTANCE OF COLUMBUS BETTER BE AT THAT DAMN GAME. THIS IS A MATTER OF DEFENDING YOUR COUNTRY. EXPECT THE PLACE TO BE CRAWLING WITH THE ENEMY. MEXICAN NATIONALS ARE VERY EXPERT AT GETTING INTO PLACES THAT DO NOT WANT THEM.

I honestly thought Beasley wasn't as bad as Orozco, and maybe not as bad as the center backs. Orozco was absolutely awful. And on the second goal, at least Beasley was trying to mark someone, the center backs weren't marking anyone.

I feel that if we asked 10 different people to name their ideal central defender pairing, we'd get 10 different answers. I honestly have no clue what to do. Besler has looked pretty good for the most part, but not last night. Gonzalez has had a few very poor games. Brooks is really young. Cameron may be needed elsewhere (as he was last night).

Beasley was also the heart of the attack in the 30 minutes we were dominating in the second half. He was consistently dangerous down the left flank but didn't get much service.

If we could have ****ing defended the first ten minutes we would have won this game. If an idiot like me could see it was going to come down to that (and I posted it immediately before the start) then there should have been a bit of a feeling out process for the first 15 minutes or so instead of being defensively irresponsible with an inexperienced bunch of defensive players. I think JK has been a good hire and I like a lot of what he does, but I'm down on the decisions he made tactically and personnel wise in this match. Now we get to play the most important match of every cycle with what amounts to Dempsey, Donovan and a B team.

Ok, I'll bite. It sounds like you blame his decisions for the personnel that will be available against Mexico. How so? It looked like a line up attempting to get a positive result that failed due to defensive shortcomings from everything I've read.

I didn't watch the match, but I'm guessing this refers to Altidore (yellow in a 3-1 game in extra time - brilliant, even if possibly undeserved), Bradley (yeah, he can control that), Besler (eh, whatever), Cameron (no clue, but he was going to play this game regardless).

Tactically he was irresponsible early imo. Or our players were against his wishes. One or the other. The Orozco start was an unmitigated disaster. Cameron at RB with Mix (positive) or Beckerman (defensive) would have been preferable I believe.

As it is, I've been a proponent of him going back to the bucket at this point. And this game would have lined up well for it. Starting Beckerman and Jones in front of a more staid back 4 with Orozco on the bench would have left us much better prepared to start the match. Landon and Clint slotted behind Aron and EJ would have been my preferred lineup in the top 2-2 if Jozy wasn't all the way fit. As it was, once we're down 2-1 I feel like you need to keep Jozy on the bench until Tuesday. the EV of trying to scrape 1 point on the road does not exceed the EV of trying to grab a 2 point win difference at home at that point. Plus he's coming off an injury. Just rest him.

The key was the first few minutes of the match. Their aggression should have been countered early. The first goal was a great set piece (again, we give up vs set pieces. frustrating.) But that second goal was really rough to watch Beasley try and mark 3 dudes in the box against a counter cross.

As I said, I'm no torch bearer or a demand-excellencer. I feel like we're ahead of where I thought we'd be. I just feel that sometimes we're tactically unprepared at the start of matches. I'm tired of watching us go down early, have been for a decade. And while I applaud his efforts to turn us into a more positive side, and for the most part I find them effective, I think sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. Yesterday was one of those instances.

dude, the loss is not on jurgen. he must've prepared the team w/ MB90 in mind starting; him getting hurt in warm-ups ****ed everything.

Mexico is still going to finish top 3 imo. After CR beats Jamaica on Tuesday, the final HEX game for them becomes meaningless and thus way easier for Mexico to get a result in CR.

Mexico is absolutely finishing 4th. Both Mexico and Honduras host Panama. Other than that, Mexico has @CR, @USA. Honduras has CR at home, @Jamaica.

With that schedule and a two point lead, Honduras easily the favorite to finish in the top 3.
