Get on that son. Will help motivate you for your qualifying bandwagon run.

A GIF of the mexican defender's fail that led to the second goal, or a shot of tevez being offside. That way, he has to look at the moments that severely angered him over and over again.

I prefer pro-USA. He's a passionate dude and deserves something that's not outright anti-Mexico.

I'm in Greenville, SC. Closest team is likely 10 hours away.

Easy there. It's much harder to actually get to a game here. Some of the stuff that one can do to see a game in Europe you just can't do here. For example, I was in London last fall and decided I wanted to go to Old Trafford to see Sunderland-United. I got on a train, saw the match, and came back, all for a reasonable price (except for getting ass-raped on the match tickets, but whatever, my own fault as an uninformed consumer), and all in one day. And that's about as far as one is likely to have a desire to go unless you are a Portsmouth fan just dying to see the play at Boro in the fizzy pop league next year.

If I live in most parts of the USA, it's simply not practical to get to a place where there is a team if that is the sole purpose of your trip.

Additionally, we have a culture that's more oriented towards not actually going since ticket prices have gotten so high that many middle class fans simply can't go to many games. Further, in my experience NFL on TV >>> NFL in the stadium. (Yeah, tailgating, but I can grill at home just fine...)

the carolina railhawks play in cary, nc (my parents live in cary, im from miami, school in boston). (cary = burb of raleigh)

theyre in the USSF d2 league, which is the league below the MLS (where toronto FC came from, where montreal is coming from, where miami FC went to, etc.)

If any of you ever get a chance to see the Sounders play at home, it is awesome. I've been to Old Trafford 3 times and the only one in which the atmosphere was not clearly worse than that of the rather meaningless regular season finale from last year was the CL QF.

re: US Men's National Soccer Team Thread: 2011 and Beyond

ya its a ton of fun watching seattle on tv w/ their crowd, they/toronto/philly are model franchises.

philly opened PPL park today (soccer spec.) and it was gorgeous 20k people, sold out, and philly came back from down 1-0 to win it. even in 92 degree humid weather people were going nuts, and cheering on little tackles/small things ppl dont normally recognize in the US.

i was impressed!

now we need to get clubs in atlanta/st louis/austin/memphis/back to miami/tampa

I think something from the JaredL collection (https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...postcount=6790) should do nice. Probably either the Donovan slide or the Howard kiss.

That, or a picture of the Alamo.

Nah, not a dome anyways. Outside in the cold is probably way worse than home.

This. A good match just flies by and you pick up so so so much that you don't see on TV. Like I knew a guy like Michael Essien was good, but I didn't know just how good until I saw him just make Mascherano and Gerrard his ***** all over the park for 90 minutes.

what's the deal with jones? did he only want to be american so he could play the 2010 cup or can we count on him in the future? if we went to 2014 with the same midfield minus dmb, clark and edu, and plus AB, JJ and a youngster, is that a quality enough group to improve on our results?

Bastard is a much better word.

Any chance Marvelle Wynne develops into a decent footballer by 2014?

Semi-grunch.

I guess it's fair to say Landon won't be around for the 2014 WC?
