People are still ignoring that in a completely non-soccer context,

THERE ARE BAJILLIONS OF LATINOS WHO ARE MEXICAN/CENTRAL AMERICAN CITIZENS BUT MOVE HERE AND BECOME AMERICAN CITIZENS AS FAST AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE AMMMMMMMMMURRRRRRRRCA RULES.

This is not some crazy-strange-unusual-crazy occurrence. This is how America operates. People from poor countries (especially mexico/central america these days) move here and attempt to become citizens. If Najar had torn out both his knees at 15, ended his sports career, he might still be living here and trying to become a US citizen JUST BECAUSE. The US is a fairly unique country in this regard.

Nationalities are a bunch of crap. We should just have a bunch of teams named after letters and they can draft guys and play a big World Cup. How awesome would it be to seam Team A play against Team V in the finals? Oh man, I'm salivating.

A huge draft would be pretty awesome, I hope FM incorporates something like that at some point. I know it's an incredibly American idea, but a worldwide fantasy draft would be the nuts.

Also, looks like Edu hurt the same knee that he had hurt last year. Could be bad.

Dumbest idea ever. The idea of the World Cup is that countries can rally around their teams.

The Champions League is already kinda like this. Obviously it's not drafting all of the very best players, but the very best teams play in it.

Along with the fact that it wouldn't be the World Cup if there were no nationalities. You really want another NBA/NHL/NFL/MLB all-star game? Yeah, those are a bunch of fun.

Anyway, US at Vuvuzelas on Wednesday. I guess I'll watch just to see how the US is doing even if this game is meaningless.

You're a pre-Madonna.

I'd probably just pick a new account name and start over at this point. I mean, Dude, I said I'd be salivating about "Team A" playing "Team V." Seriously?

Also, Canada fans, feel free to treat Teal Bunbury as we treat Rossi.

Bunbury actually grew up in the US (although only if Minnesota counts)

doesn't seem comparable tbh, other than the same arguments for why Rossi would choose Italy over the US are probably comparable to playing for the US instead of Canada. Higher profile team, etc.

Bunbury's dad was on the Canadian National team and he grew up in the Canada youth system, playing for the U-17 and U-20 teams.

sure, but he lived in the US from age 10. Rossi never lived in Italy, while representing Italy at the youth level.

Again, dumbest idea ever. You really think that'd be fun to watch? Who is cheering for who? Who is the underdog?

Tell me why it'd be good, and tell me why I'm wrong because no one else has said your idea is good. You really can't see why this would be terrible? Team A vs Team V joke wasn't even funny either. I mean have you never seen an all-star game or something?

Definitely post-Madonna too.

Sounds like Mo Edu's knee injury isn't serious, according to Goff. He's having scans today and may even be able to play in Rangers' game this weekend.

Would have preferred more Bunbury and Agudelo, but what can you do? I'd imagine we'll see both.

Mostly interested in Ream, Lichaj, and Bedoya in that lineup...

I like the lineup for the most part.

Backline is solid. Borchers is probably better than Ream, but he's also 29 and not likely to fit in to the long term plans so let the young guy (who may be needed soon given Gooch's form and Boca's need at LB) get some run.

My only beef is with Bedoya starting after looking pretty bad in his last few outings. However, they've moved him central now which is where he plays with Orebro so maybe that'll spark something. Plus, the other option was starting either Bunbury or Agudelo up top, and that seems like asking a lot out of guys that young.

Fully expect Findley to be an abortion on the pitch, but he's the only option really. Please prove me wrong.
