Somebody more attack minded for Laurentowicz (I'm going to continue banging the Sal Zizzo drum) and Omar Gonzalez for Orozco Fizcal and I'm pretty damn happy with that squad. Wouldn't hate somebody like Dunivant getting a look at LB either TBH.

Still no Omar Gonzalez or George John looks is my only real gripe I guess.

He's French and I doubt he's a US Citizen.

According to 5 minutes of research on the wikipedia, he's eligible for US selection. Lol wikipedia? Though have seen it reported other places too - e.g. http://philly.theoffside.com/union-r...n-the-usa.html

That article says he got a green card, which is good enough to not count as a international MLS player, but not good enough for the USMNT. The author is an idiot.

I'll also point out that his form was horrible until 2-3 weeks ago.

Since he doesn't have US citizenship, he's definitely not eligible yet. He just got his green card last year so he's at least a couple of years from being eligible.

anyone know the channel for tomorrow's game(Friendly vs Honduras) @ 6 PM EST? I've checked ESPN and FSC but no luck, any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

found it, FOX Soccer, and Univision. Guess I missed it on FSC. cheers.

[coolstorybro]Just checked into the W Fort Lauderdale for a long weekend with Mrs. sb...as we walked down the hallway to the guest room elevators, Carlos Bocanegra and Gooch passed by us. Then the elevator door opened and DMB walked out, I wished him good luck on the match tonight. He said thanks.[/coolstorybro]

starting 11 is 1-Tim Howard; 2-Steve Cherundolo, 4-Michael Orozco Fiscal, 5-Carlos Bocanegra (capt.), 3-Tim Chandler; 6-Kyle Beckerman; 8-Danny Williams, 7-Maurice Edu, 11-Brek Shea; 10-Clint Dempsey, 9-Jozy Altidore

Bench is 12-Bill Hamid, 13-Jonathan Spector, 14-Oguchi Onyewu, 15-Jeff Larentowicz, 16-DaMarcus Beasley, 17-Michael Bradley, 8-Juan Agudelo

I'm very happy with that starting lineup, except that I can't figure out how Beckerman makes the bench, much less the field. imho, way overrated, and anything he can do, Bradley can do way better.

edit: they're lining up in a 4-1-3-2

Chandler night and day from his last appearance. He's been so effective offensively this first 35 minutes.

When we're good offensively we're far more dangerous than we ever were under Bradley. Unfortunately nothing has been done to cure our sieve back 4.

entertaining match, but the US shows no evidence that they can control the tempo.

First half: Howard awesome, Chandler+Shea partnership looks strong already and very promising for the future. Sick confidence by Dempsey on the goal, 99% of players would have forced a shot in the first two touches (though he does miss chances by taking too many touches sometimes). Danny Williams looks promising, he's got some solid quality on the ball. Jozy looks like a new player with his workrate and holdup play massively improved.

OTOH I thought Edu had a pretty bad first half, some giveaways + we didn't look nearly solid enough in the center, they looked dangerous every chance they had to counter. And JFC is Orozco Fiscal terrible, get the kid off the field for his own sake. So many errors, any one of which could have led to a goal.

Edit: Gooch! strong back four now, will be interested to see it functions.

Hard to control tempo with back line making so many mistakes.

Brek Shea is awesome at crossing the ball.

Beckerman playing like crap.

Williams header was also saved by the guys hand, should have been a PK and probably a red.
