I gave you the challenge of finding any article saying that the US had a bad World Cup. Anything whatsoever that would support your foaming argument that Berhalter got in the way of the “dudes from Chelsea, Juve, and Dortmund” from making the quarterfinals or however far you think they should have gone

You’ve looked like a clown for the past three years, looks like people pretty much ignore you and your idiotic anti MLS rants. I just chose to engage the resident dummy, for entertainment purposes, and also because it’s the end of this particular road.

You are once again confusing results with performance. And the discussion is now about 2026 which Berhalter is clearly not fit to lead.

What "idiotic MLS rants" are you upset with specifically? The idea that the USMNT player pool shouldn't be made up of MLS guys? We've come a long way in that regard since the 2018 campaign and even this qualifying campaign. However the introduction of MLS players this World Cup resulted in some of our biggest drop offs in play and Gregg's biggest errors exposing his biggest shortcomings (in addition to his lack of any tactical acumen)

Again now that we have players playing at legitimate clubs we deserve better than the .500 Columbus Crew manager. Also I personally set the bar higher than 2010 (where we topped a group with England who we also drew with!!!), 2014 and even 2002. If you dont then fair enough I guess

Proud of the boys. They showed some fight in that 2nd half. Reyna looked good. Dest had a really good tournament. We get more prospects into the player-pool. team should be better in 4 years lol

Holland looked good, mayne. They bounce the Argies next

And you won’t find a single article written that throws shade on the US Team’s performance.

And yes, now it’s onto 2026 and we are all in 100% agreement that we hope to have a better coach. However, the great position we are in which translates to potential ability to get a much better coach is ironically due to the success that Berhalter oversaw. So we should act like adults and thank him for the service.

Go ahead and write more paragraphs of rambling angry nonsense, it won’t change the fact that you are an epic tool. It solidifies it, actually.

Talking Heads talking

Should USMNT stick with Gregg Berhalter for 2026?

we can't get any good friendlys either bc of UEFA Nations League filling in windows. we have CCAF Nations League and the Gold Cup, but GC is a B team roster for us.

we will likely be in 2024 Copa America tho so that will be fun

I almost wish we didnt have auto WC qualification so we could have games and see the boys

This was best US WC ever. Competitive against england and Holland was a dream in the past. Now it's a reality with a very young team.

Anyone who thinks US is going to win WC now is just not realistic. Not enough technical skill on the ball to beat the top teams but not just running around anymore. It used to be all heart and lungs. Now some of them are actually decent players for major European clubs and it shows.

Its not in anyway a misread.

Holland controlled the tempo of the game for 80/90% of the game.

Claiming USA had their best campaign when they won one game 1-0 against Iran is a much bigger misread.

This is their best team on paper, but that potential stayed mostly on the page.

The 2 options were go all out for a win or rotate players and play for a close loss.

Berhalter did neither. He burned out all our key players and then didn't even push hard for the key result in the final 30 minutes.

This ending up sinking the team in the R16. Both FBs, the whole midfield, and Pulisic were among the leaders in distance run/covered over the group stage and were ****in exhausted vs. Netherlands which contributed to silly defensive mistakes.

Berhalter did an "amazing" job I guess getting out of a group that had a bottom 5 team (Wales), bottom 10 team (Iran), and England playing at like 50% intensity. Oh, and that Costa Rica team that everyone was making fun of? Berhalter was even with them in qualifying.

But I think we're down to maybe 3 nuthuggers who will defend Berhalter to the death and absolutely forbid any sort of critical thinking that might shed the USMNT or Berhalter in a negative light.

The future is very bright, the vast majority of the key players are 24 or younger, I just pray to god that it's a future sans Berhalter.

Nah, Van Gaal just had a good plan. Only US player skilled on the ball is Dest, so Depay over there to attack Dest, keep him off the ball. Everything up through Robinson on the other side, and he's just lots of lungs and heart but not much skill. Middle back two are US's weakest players and they're slow in making reads, and that's where all three goals came from. Pulisic scores and the game would have been different because Netherlands can't be so patient and wait to take advantage of them.

They were the better team against England. I never thought I'd write that.

Against Netherlands all the things that to go their way went the other, but it's not like the Dutch ran them over as would have happened in the past.

Its debatable they were the better team against England, not better enough to actually win.

Hanging your hat on a nil nil draw is not going to get you far.

How do you think that game would have gone if it was a must win?

England that crushed teams USA struggled against would not come out on top?

Highly probable they would imo.

This is all moot though, the real issue is that USA lost because their potential stayed on the page, this is due to coaching, if you are a USA fan and you dont want to change the coach, that is just off the charts homerism taken way too far, you want your team to win, take of the googles and look at the very apparent truth that your coaching and tactical work is behind the curve and obviously needs improving or the also obvious improvement in squad quality will count for nothing.

lol. LvG is actually praising GGG and the USMNT

LFC so strident to 'win' he just dug his own grave. you're not the sharpest tool in the toolbox are you LFC?

Man this thread in strange. How in the world does that put me in my grave in any way? It's on Gregg to adapt to the "better country," That's literally what good managers do and how "lesser" teams beat better teams. Are we all new to sports or something? Netherland beat us with the same exact move 3 times. Iran and Wales destroyed us in the 2nd half after we had complete control of the game? Do you know why? The managers of those teams adapted to the better team. There were countless examples of Gregg's totally inability to adapt throughout qualifying as well.

I'm realizing this thread is mostly the tune into soccer once every 4 years crowd now, but yes in soccer it's usually on the manager of the "lesser" team to adapt to the better team.

Also what exactly is the praise for GGG in that tweet you shared? I'm not seeing it

Its hard to fathom that their are people who actually disagree with LFC on this given what he is saying is not even close to controversial.

Had ligastar a bit further up the food chain than this.

Do you you think USA was correct then to not adapt to NED?

Ligastar dug the grave here, obviously USA should adapt to NED, if they didnt having the opposing coach allegedly use that non adaptation as praise does not make it right.
